:airplane: Wow! Just think about it, a Airbus 380 is flying somewhere in the world with 680 passengers and a problem develops that the crew determines that in the interest of their passengers, they must be ejected from the aircraft! Airbus is proposing a "detachable" cabin, which can be ejected from the main body of the aircraft and parachuted safely to mother earth! They didn't address what happens if that should occur over water!
It will have a inflatable "cushion" on the bottom of the cabin area, to safely cushion the impact with good ole earth!
Am I dreaming or is this a serious proposal by one of the largest aircraft manufactory in the world? I would guess the good ole FAA would have to have a demonstration of said application to an existing aircraft! Holy cow, Batman, can you even think about the AD's on this thing over the first 10 years of service! I must be dreaming, ole well!

I remember back in the 80's MAD magazine also proposed the same thing.

I prefer the individual ejection seats model, its like the fourth of july, the computer autonomously decides when to eject them. Hopefully it will remember that puny humans require air to breathe, and won't confuse MSL with AGL.

:airplane: I like that idea, because if you don't like the way someone is acting, just press the eject button! LOL :devil

Passenger ejector seats? You must be joking.

The seat itself has got that down, but ask anyone who's ever sat on an ejection seat: It's NOT comfortable. At all. Even for like 5 minutes...

I was under the impression the 380 was going out of production.

Clearly you have not ridden in economy seating on any airline lately.

LOL! Put it this way, the ejection seats are SO uncomfortable, it's almost enough to persuade someone not to fly fighters. Almost...

hehe if you were sitting by 3 people you knew in game and had to eject one...
