Anyone know where I might find a specific inverter for a Toshiba Satellite? P505 Good computer... everything is great except the stupid backlight won't stay lit. And, seems everywhere I look, the inverter is out of stock. Found one at lcdparts.net, but order canceled as "out of stock". They list a "Universal" one but, I'm a tad reluctant to order from these guys. I asked their tech support about THIER Universal inverter, that THEY advertise, and they told me... "check google". My reply was not nice. Not at all.

Look for a second hand screen. At least our local shops salvage all kinds of parts from computers left to them to be demolished. A laptop may die beyond reasonable repair costs by getting a glass of wine inside, but the screen should stay unharmed. I just dismantled a Satellite Pro S300 having such an issue. If the inverter is of the same type as yours, I can send it for mailing costs (which are stellar from here to there!). But I can't guarantee it'd be in perfect condition, so a local shop would be a better choice.

Spare Parts Warehouse lists one (several actually).

Thanks. Gonna have a local shop see if they can find one. Otherwise, I'll get back to ya.

Ya, they're the ones who cancelled my order due to out-of-stock. They're also the only ones I've found that list my particular model. lcdparts.net is probably gonna be my best bet, they however, have a dork answering tech-support emails.
