Title: Unorthodox medical question
Post by: glzsqd on December 08, 2015, 03:24:43 PM
Hello all.
I am writing to ask whether anyone on this forum knows anything about Male Castration, specifically how one would go about getting it done, and more information about the subsequent physiological effects of the procedure. For example, would it be something I could ask my GP about, or would I have to make enquiries via psychiatric services first? I live in the United Kingdom, so I assume that it would be done through the NHS, as I lack the funds to have it done privately. As for the psychological changes induced by castration, I have done some reading around the subject, and the most common psychological changes listed seem to be an effective suppression of the desire for sexual intercourse and a diminishment of ambition in a more general sense, and these are exactly the sort of changes that I am looking for, as I long for a more quiescent existence devoid of these psychological pressures. However, I have also read that male castration can shorten one's lifespan by ten to twenty years, and can increase the risk of certain endocrine disorders, such as hyper/hypo thyroid conditions. Can anyone confirm or deny that these psychological and physical changes are true for this kind of procedure. I realise that this may be a rather strange line of enquiry, however I don't really have any friends or acquaintances to discuss it with, would have to wait a small eternity for an appointment with a medical professional, and members of my family would be either horrified or amused/insincere if I asked them. So, I come to this corner of the internet, where the sublime and ridiculous are interchangeable with the mundane and credible for answers. Many thanks in advance for your responses.

Take questions like this to your doctor/physician.  It is not an appropriate topic for this board.
