i tell ya what we can talk about flying and ,SA, ACM, BCM but if i cant start hitting targets all i am ever going to be is A target.after about 40 flights tonight i finally got a kill but this is getting ridiculous. If i was to start hitting 1/2 the planes i am shooting at life would be so much easier . what good is SA, ACM, BCM if i cant hit anything. today i resorted to vulching and just about everything else for 1 crummy kill where i could of had 10 to 15. all i want for xmas is lazer guided bullets lol. :bhead getting shot down doesnt bother so much but missing targets all the time does. in 80 sorties so far this month i have 9 kills 8 of them were proxies. lucky for me i had the camera rolling and you can watch my 1 kill (lucky shot). i can fly in the offline area and blow them out of the sky no problem but in the MA i may as well be blindfolded.

I have the same issue with being able to hit very accurately in the offline arena but online my aim is very poor.
My issue is likely an internet connection problem since I connect at 320 to 400ms.
The only things that really stood out for me in your video were:
- You pull too hard. You are in blackout state very often and right at the start of the movie you were stalling your left wing big time due to pulling too hard. Relax and fly smoother.
- Speed is actually working against you. Being fast to ensure you can get away from an enemy is fine but you are into those fights at such speeds that you have little time to line the shot up. Control your throttle more to be at a speed that is both safe AND useful. IF you sit on my 6 at the same speed as me you are not going to miss as often. Come screaming at me at 400MPH and all I have to do is tap the rudder and you will miss.
My advice - slow her down and learn to get the shots first. Sure you will get shot down more but you will also kill more. Then as you get the feel of getting the kill you will be able to judge speeds and energy states better which will keep you safer.

Use Zoom. Adjust it before take off.
You might try FOV setting in the 90s
Use a P-47. Eight 50s is like a shotgun.
If it is a lead shot, I bet you are not leading enough.
Lusche always says "Get close then get closer."

Hang in there my friend. Everyone and I mean everyone has to learn the hard way. The whole point of playing a game that is extremely difficult is the joy and fun and excitement when you do get a kill. Still, to this day, as I am dropping out of the sky from 35K at a bazillion miles an hour unto an unsuspecting victim, my heart starts hammering away in my chest. That's when the hardest thing to do in the game must be done...............relax..... ......calm yourself................see the future of where your enemy will be and where your rounds need to be to kill him. Squeeze that trigger gently with minimal input to your stick to keep the G's down. Become one with your plane, one with the environment, one with the game. Be the killer.

Mike,
how long have I been flying? well alot longer than you and I still cant hit anything.... :furious
Come see me in the TA and we can cry in our milk together... :aok
IMHO shooting is one of the hardest things to get good at,there are so many variables it becomes difficult to master.
Lusche can correct me but I think the average hit% is about 1% to 2%,so every 100 round you fire 1 or 2 hit.
As I said come see me and I'll see if I cant help,or atleast give you a shoulder to cry on,as long as your willing to do the same!

Mike, when we get together in the Training Arena, I'll be sure to spend some time on shooting with you. I'll also share with you a few practice exercises you can do on your own that might translate into better MA shooting.
When I talk about SA and ACM being a key for you, it actually DOES relate to shooting, because those improvements will allow you to set up better shots. One of the things you will learn and can notice with guys who tend to shoot well (get lots of kills per sortie and kills/assist) is they are very good at flying to the shot, setting up easier shots to make/hit.
Fess makes some excellent points about exactly this, when he points out that you are pulling too hard, often to near black-out, for the shot and essentially taking shots you can't make. It might seem like you have a shot, which makes it frustrating when you don't hit anything. But in reality, you are often setting up very difficult, if not impossible, shots to hit.
Imagine you are that classic gunfighter in a western, trying to shoot a tin-can off a wooden fence. Right now, it's like you are trying to shoot the can while spinning in circles, hopping on one foot and closing your eyes -- a nearly impossible shot. Imagine instead walking slowly up to the fence and blowing the tin can away at point blank range -- nearly impossible to miss! That's what flying to the shot is all about. The fastest way to improve your shooting will be understanding a few fundamentals and learning how to set up easier shots.
I'll show you more about this and share a couple ways to practice it when we meet up in the TA.

I see some of the classic beginner mistakes.
You're flying too fast for the plane you are in. General rule, turny planes don't like speed. You're blacking out in turns and compressing a bit.
You're not taking enough time to set up the shot. Several times you dove in when the con was traveling 90 degrees to your flight path. Try to set up the merge (the point where you meet with the plane) so that you are roughly behind it. It's all about timing.
When do you normally fly?

I have played the game awhile and its still tuff. I started the above thread, the members here have offered great advice.
This is a online simulation, as such there are some limitations albeit small ones. You need to take a step back and pose some well thought out questions. Do not just rant but ask your questions. You will get serious answers to serious questions.
Look into, proper scaling of your joystick, gunnery zoom, gunnery, view setups and squads. Choose 1 plane and stick with it only while learn what you need to learn.
Join a squad, squaddies will help you, cover you and allow you to learn. AH has a steep learning curve, but its not a vertical one. Patience and practice is what you need. Also remember, there are peeps here who play a lot, I mean a lot, so do not let it get to you. As in anything worth doing, practice, practice, practice. This is not an arcade style game per say, it is a quality attempt at a serious business, combat aircraft and war.

You really shouldn't want or strive to be someone else!
Be yourself and practice, as others have already posted....
As far as BFM and ACM , SA, E-management.... The plane type doesn't matter, if you understand it all.... meaning, your abilities are transferable.... However, it is recommended to learn most of it in one plane type
Once you get your mind wrapped around these things, then things will start to fall in place for you
Good luck and pm me if I can be of any help!

Here's a quote attributed to the great ace Erich Hartmann that may be worth considering:
"I opened fire when the whole windshield was black with the enemy . . . at minimum range . . . it doesn't matter what your angle is to him or whether you are in a turn or any other maneuver."

M,
You started the thread looking for assistance. If you do not take it serious then who will. If you want a joke thread well then....................
Peeps here are usually of age, and they take this game quite seriously. We help in a serious manner if asked......if that's not what you want, that's cool, we will all move on.
Its truly up to you m8.

MADe, if he sent you a personal message, why would you bring it here to the open Help and Training forum?
Not looking for nor need an answer to that question
He apparently didn't want to share it with everyone in this thread
Just how it looks from my view
Let's keep this forum to the forum title:
Help and Training
sincerely,
