Title: Returning to AH

Hi guys,

I am contemplating a return to AH after being away for a while. Well, that is, if I can get my system to dual boot windows and linux.
Hopefully my video card (GTX560) is good enough.

Looking forward to seeing old friends again in the AH skies.

I dual boot Ubuntu and windows. I set it up my self. Any questions, ask away!

Welcome back! Despite low numbers during non-peak hours I think we can all agree the action in-game is at a higher level than it has ever been when you can find it.  :cheers:

Well I partitioned the drive I use for my OSes and installed windows, AH, etc.

I run Debian w/Gnome desktop (used to run XFCE) now. One of my hobbies is writing a flight simulator in c++ and OpenGL (GLSL). So I run Linux for that and also as my main system.
Windows is just for games. Which I hate, but that's the way it is I guess.

Anyway, got setup and back on line last night. Numbers are a LOT lower than they were back in the late 2000's. But I must say the fun factor was higher. It kind of reminded me of the days of AH1.

Had a blast!

Been flying for a couple days.  Some of the best dogfights I have ever had. It kinda feels like the old days.  I don't know if its the lower numbers or the quality of the pilots. I suspect both.

Hello Mates

The Oldest Yank in the RAF has returned.  Have been gone for a year.  I came to AH in beta from warbirds in 2000.

I have been doing other things for the last year.  Back to try my hand again at low level bombing.

Don't know if any of my old squad mates in 249RAF are still about.

What happened to the Navy?

Nice to be back. I have had some of the best fights and best flying in AH since the early days.
