Title: Reset Text Buffer
Post by: Mongoose on December 23, 2015, 07:41:39 PM
A while back, I was experimenting with streaming video on Twitch.  Somewhere in the process, my text buffer was expanded, and it got stuck that way. Now every time I start the game, my text buffer is expanded, and I have to turn it back down.  It's not really a big problem, just irritating.  I figure there is something in the settings that I can change and get it back to normal. Skuzzy, sir, can you give me a hint?

Press the Tilde button.  It will fix you all up.

Yes, I press the tilde button when I open the game, and it puts the buffer window back to normal.  But I have to do this every time I run the game.  It's a little irritating, and I would like to fix it.

I tried to reproduce that by leaving the window maximized and closing the game, but I couldn't.  When I opened the game again, the window was normal.
Have you tried to click and drag the window back down to size?

Nope, that just shifted it a bit. How about the "filters" file.

0x00010000,VERSION
27,FONT_SIZE
1,FILTER_CNT
8,20,939,1031,SMALLRECT
7,900,938,1041,LARGERECT
1,TAB_CNT
All

OK, the "SMALLRECT" is the one that put it back.

To change it,

Open "Windows Explorer"
navigate to "C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\settings" (if your game is in the standard location)
double click, or right click to open the "filters" file with notepad
replace the "SMALLRECT" line with 0,961,1130,1080,SMALLRECT (cut and paste)
click on file and then save.
close the notepad window and start the game and you should be good.

It wouldn't hurt to make a copy of the "filters" file BEFORE making the changes and save it to your desktop..... just in case   :D

Thanks for the help Coogn!

Thank you Sir.  I never would have thought to check those files.

Thank you, Fugitive and Coogan.  I will try this when I have a chance.

Ok, that worked.  Apparently, my screen resolution is different than yours, so I had to use different numbers.  But this gave me enough information to get it worked out.  Thanks, again.
