Title: Weather
Post by: Chalenge on December 26, 2015, 01:26:06 PM
I would love to see islands with monsoon type rains, or maps that have rain forest areas that are constantly under cloud and rain cover. This would consist of weather conditions so severe (low visibility and turbulent) that air operations are impossible. Ground operations would be hindered, but still practical.

These would be areas for tank battles, and infantry operations.

Rain can also be seasonally alternated with snow and freezing conditions.

That is all!  :salute

I would not go that far but some kind of weather would be nice, some cumulus atleast just to make the maps more alive. Fighting among the clouds could add some fun.

Great idea from original poster, would be very interesting having ground operations during big storm events.  +1

You might also protect vehicle fights with fog/haze. Aircraft could still attack but only in flak range and with limited visibility.

It's not about protection. In fact, it's about making the fight much more intense.

Weather could also be used to limit air fights to one region of the map for the off hours.

I would like to see dark clouds and rain also. It happened, particularly in the Pacific. Don't know what it would do to the frame rate, but a little rain would be good. +1

A monsoon over tank town would be sweet.

Best I've been able to do in lightening.  Basically an object that looks like lightening, non-collide, with a very close min/max view distance to make it look like a lightening "flash" as you are traveling.

Clever... very clever.
