Gents,
With less than two weeks before "Southern Conquest" begins, the registration numbers
seem alarmingly low.
Allied: 38 registered of 60 slots
Axis: 18 resistered of 60 slots
Is this typical for a scenario these days?
The only one I've done in years was the 12-hour one we had six months ago, but
I did that as a walk-on and have no registration numbers to compare.

We are considering a new start date of Frame 1 on January 30th, get the holidays behind us and have more time to team build.

ROC,
When I originally saw only 60 slots for a -scenario-, I thought it must've been
an error of some sort. I can see now that it was most certainly not.
I've no preference personally as to whether you put the dates off or not.
It's got to be very frustrating on your end. :frown:

Are we going to have allied and axis forums? Having them might help.

Speaking as a vet of the last 6-7 scenarios. This is a good idea Roc. It takes a lot to plan and coordinate multiple squadrons over four frames and leadership still needs to be put in place.

My year is going to start on a busy note. I can't commit to this one. But I may show as a walk on.

Don't limit your date selection by the month. Starting in the middle of January would work too.

FBDragon, best wishes to you and as fast a recovery as possible.

I think we'll get decently on track adding a bit more time for recruiting.
We just need players to do more recruiting into their groups (except for Odd and the other folks whose groups are already full -- way to go, guys! :aok ).
Folks, please work on getting more pilots into your groups if not full and into other groups if your group is full. Ask your squaddies and pals and people you talk to in the Main Arena. If you are in a squad, also ask friendly squads and even rival squads (you can ask rivals to join the other side :) ).

I agree it's a hard time of year to recruit, and even worse to plan.
:salute
BigRat
LOL, didn't realize I was actually full.

Any idea of when we might have Allied and Axis forums? This I believe will go along way for recruitment and planning. :salute

Forums should be open in the next day or two.
Normally, I like to have a command team in place before they open, gives the leaders time to prep the forum.
Looks like this time they go in and sweep up :)

plane layouts look like a concern as well. Hurri2s and F4Fs vs 109s thats pretty rough.

I don't think so, for a few reasons.
It's not just Hurri II's and F4F's vs. 109's.
The 109's are E's.
This mix has run many times in "This Day in WWII: Operation Torch" without problems.
In Scenarios, I think it is important to use the mix of aircraft that was actually there, with adjustments to numbers to create balance. In Operation Torch, is was Hurri II's, F4F's, and Seafires vs. Hawks (for which we use P-40C's) and Dewoitine D.520's (for which we use Bf 109E's and C.202's as the best match).

On the low registration numbers, something that might help. I remember the Battle of Tunisia, the CO's on both sides fostered the individual squadrons to come up with period recruitment posters, sometimes representing the historical groups, fighter squadrons, tank regiments, etc. We had quite a number of creative recruitment posters for both sides showing up in the general forum all the time. There was a very immersive spirit for that scenario. It was also very educational for those who were WWII buffs.
