Title: Polesti Raid - Sad Farewell
Post by: mthrockmor on January 09, 2016, 01:14:59 PM
This morning Colonel Stewart passed away, mid-90's. He flew a B-24 during the first Polesti Raid. He lived in Utah, and his buff was named "Utah Man."

More details pending, to include a link to his obituary. For me, a sad day. He is one of the few from that time that I personally knew. He was loved by thousands who came to know his story over the years.

While it is inevitable that time will take all those that fought in WW2, with each passing, another library of memories and experiences is gone.

RIP Col. Stewart

Thank you for my Freedom  :salute
