Title: DIPG and our "3rd son"-Camron Cozzi
Post by: Ripsnort on January 15, 2016, 08:30:42 AM
It pains me to write this as Cam has been like our '3rd' son all these years.

I thought I would share our neighbor's story.

Camron Cozzi is 16 years old and we've watched he and his brother grow up since they were born. He is (or was) on my youngest son's HS Lacrosse team up until this past December Cam was having issues with vision, balance. Dec 22nd we all got the news; Cam has been diagnosed with DIPG, a rare form of brain cancer that is inoperable, and it is 100% fatal. Only 300 children are diagnosed with DIPG each year.

Cam is the biggest Seahawk fan you'll find around.

Pete Carol wore Cam's DIPG Awareness pin in honor of Cam last Sunday at the game.

The Seahawks found out about Cam and they invited him to the training facilities last week. I'm sharing a few pics of Cam and his family talking with various members.
Here are photos of Cam with the Seahawks--> https://sportsdad60.smugmug.com/Cam/

If you have some spare change, please donate to the Cozzi family Wings of Angels in the link provided below. These are some of the greatest most caring people you'll ever meet, and to have this happen to one of their own, well, it's shocking.

Oh man.... :(

I hope he'll never give up, and I'll keep him in my thoughts.

The Seattle Seahawks met with our "3rd son" and neighbor Camron a couple weeks ago.
These guys really give back to the community !

We are having a big silent and live auction at the WA state fairgrounds for Cam and DIPG cure in March.
I put together a slide show for this event.
Paul Cozzi (Father) has been a Youth Sports football and Lacrosse coach for 10 years. His wife, Cyndi, is a professional photographer and artist. We love these neighbors so much....

Cam is going thru radiation treatments. It is stalling his condition so we're very blessed to still have him with us. He's not doing well, throwing up a lot, losing weight, he has about 9 months or less to live according to docs. Please donate so that this can be researched and prevent for future children from coming down with this dreadful brain stem cancer.

Heartbroken to share the news that Camron Cozzi has passed away 2 years and 3 months after being diagnosed with DIPG. He left to be with his Heavenly Father on his eighteenth birthday, a true hero arriving home to the biggest celebration anyone could have. Camron’s fight and search for a cure took him and his family to many places and countries, he battled for over two years. Camron fought with grit, determination and courage, he has now received the ultimate prize of eternal life and he has surely heard the words, well done good and faithful servant. Please keep the Cozzi family and all who love Camron in your thoughts and prayers.

Here is my neighbor Paul Cozzi’s post about their son on Saturday.

“It is with deep regret to inform all of our Family, Friends and Supporters, our amazing son Camron Cozzi, earned his Angel Wings last night and has gone to heaven to join the Lord. At 11:55 pm on 3-10-18 Camron met his Heavenly Father. He is forever free of this horrific disease that stole his life from him. He was the most amazing son to Cyndi and I and brother to Jordon. On his 18th birthday and after pleading with him for hours to just let go, Camron finally took his last breath here on earth. He fought to live like no person I have ever met. He may have not been large in stature but his heart and soul was enormous. I can’t imagine how in life I will continue to move on, but I know I must. The pain of his loss is severe but I’m comforted in knowing he is in a much better place. A place of beauty and love we have never experienced. A place where he is completely healed and free of Cancer. A place where he can once again play, laugh and run. You will never leave me Camron as you have made me what I am today and I will forever carry you in my heart. Till I see you again Buddy, please know that my love for you is deep, as deep as the heavens are beautiful. As beautiful as a son you were to Mom and I.”

Even with Cam's passing WE, the collectively WE, can still make a difference.

Let's kick Childhood Brain Cancer's ass.
This cancer doesn't get Gov't funding for research since fewer than 400 are "lottery'd" with it per year.
It's a slow and disgusting death.

Please donate. I beg you. We've given $2500 in the past 18 months.
Even $10 helps.
