I'm not sure if any of our current vehicle set had smoke generators, but I know there were some in the Allied field. The Cromwell and Challenger tanks had two generators on the aft end that could put up quite a cloud in short order. If AHIII could also make use of particle effects in the smoke generators then it could be used to cover up a spawn point and allow attackers to break up a spawn camp rapidly and get the fight moving.
EDIT: Typo in the title

+1 for PT boats too

Think of the frame rate hits it would cause.
Imagine a individual tank that can set off a lag spike wquivilant to the maximum current rendered smoke rounds from our tanks.
But I approve since it raises an even bigger hit me flag for tasty pts

You know, they also used these near important targets to make it more difficult to identify. Of course, those smoke generators put off a lot more smoke.

Smoke generators would be wonderful if you didn't show an icon while you were in a smoke area, but the big red "kill me I am here" over your head makes the smoke kind of worthless vs aircraft. I will lay a load of LVT smoke on a beach to try to cover the landing craft, but it is of no use when that red tag floats over you. If smoke hid your icon and make them have to come in low to find you it might be different. In that case I would want smoke for the 5" guns on the ships as well.

That's not a bad idea. Especially the 5 inch smoke :aok

The idea reminds me of the Nimrods at work huffing their Vapor cigs... No.
