cleaned up my computer today....everything working find.
kept by settings files and deleted old game....... DL the regular game from the website here......says the files in this download may be corrupted...tried a few times..... wont even let me open the download or load it...

Try turning off any anti-virus programs you have running.

One of two things will cause this.
1) You are trying to open the file remotely, instead of actually downloading it to your local hard drive and then opening it.
2) There is some type of anti-xxxx software actually corrupting the file download. Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, and Avast are notorious for this one.

Avast is proving to be the worst. It has made Beta testers crazy with all the errors it has been causing.

I'm not sure why this is,it's simple to shut down or stop for a period of time,in fact even I can do that so almost anyone can.
I have used avast and spybot together for years and they stop most nasty stuff tho not all! But hey for free I'll take the risk and deal with any nasty stuff because in my experience most AV's you buy are just as bad as any nasty stuff you might get.
Once had a mailer bot hidden inside Norton,it quarantined itself in a nice folder in the quarantine area of norton so norton ignored it while it hijacked my comp to bulk email people!

Unfortunately, most people assume if it complains about a file, it must be true. A customer lost is what it amounts to.
Avast and Kaspersky are the worst of the lot when it comes to false triggering on our game(s).

I agree Skuzzy,I've had to tell many players to turn off the A/V when downloading the beta! Seems once they do that they dont have anymore issues.

It has been common practice in instructions for decades to recommend shutting the antivirus down during the installation process. However, since that has mostly proven unnecessary people have forgot how and especially why to do that.

I'm using windows 10 and its awesome. There's no reason for me to have a A/V because windows 10 comes with its own. I downloaded beta and had no problem. All that came up when I opened the beta was that windows asked me to allow beta through my firewall. I'm loving windows 10.
