Apologizing for what? Apologizing for being on the right side of human civilization in the 20th century? Apologizing for showcasing Cuba as a real world example of everything that soviet ideology can bring to fruition?

Cuba doesn't make loads of anything - except dookie and spooge. That's why they're poor.

In fact, generally, you can correlate production to wealth, surprise, surprise, subject to the caveat that there actually be a demand for that production. (There are still piles of Soviet "production" rusting in the Urals. 

No, the upside of the Cuba deal is this:
1. sex tourism should rebound nicely there, no holes barred
2. no more having to smuggle Havana cigars back into the US
3. my plan to fill The Meadowlands with human feces is now a "go", given that I've got a source and a tanker to park next to it.

Also: Floob is entirely correct about the gap b/w "friends" and interests. The former is meaningless on a national level.

They will legally export square cigars to the usa. Right now they are sold in italy. In fact when you're there you can hear the Italians shout "hey looka at that cigar, it'sa a cuba"
