Title: The Wave (movie recommendation)
Post by: GScholz on March 24, 2016, 07:16:24 PM

Best disaster movie I've seen in years. Mostly because they avoided many typical movie tropes and the characters, for the most part, acted rationally. Also, something like this will happen one day in Geiranger. Just a matter of time...

Check it out if you like disaster movies.

It looks pretty well done, G.  +1 that it's based on actual geology (historical).

Documentary: Made for educational purposes.

Disaster movie: Made for entertainment.

Learning the difference may prevent future faux pas...  :aok

Happy ending for some. Not so for others. Typical in these sorts of films.

And Thor never saved anyone! He's a God you worship out of fear for what he might do to you, not for you.

Impossible for the majority of Americans and they don't care if it's not real

Oh and just a fair warning: This is an R rated film (and not because of nudity) and goes to some really dark places. Not a popcorn disaster movie you would like to watch with your children. It's sort of two thirds disaster movie and one third horror movie.

Now that the warning has been delivered it should be said that Geiranger is a remarkably picturesque place to destroy.

No spoilers in those clips btw.
