I've built lots of cloud files for AH2, but trying it in AH3 beta, I can get only a top layer and can't get the usual cloud fronts to work.
Any suggestions?
Anyone have an AH3-beta cloud file that works that I can try?

This one will work over the area of a single island. About 5x9 miles.

Many thanks. I'll give it a go and try to figure out why what I'm creating doesn't work.

This is the weather file from CraterMA.
The individual clouds are much smaller now so you need a lot more of them. When grouped into a front you get rectangular blocks of cloud that look artificial to my eyes. I found it looks better to group say half a dozen smaller cloud fronts loosely together rather than make one big rectangular block. In the CraterMA file every six lines represents one mini weather system.

Odds are it has to do with where you are putting it to load.
Default would be chconfig/ndisles/ndisles.awa
For ndisles terrain.

I put it into chconfig\blksea, went offline into the blksea terrain, and then did a .sweath 512-cloudsmed-v1. The message box said "512-cloudsmed-v1.awa loaded" or some such, and I did see the top layer of clouds that I did (when there were no clouds prior), but none of the other fronts.
I'll try renaming it to blksea.awa to see if that helps.
Many thanks for the info.

By the way, when seeing the max number of clouds generated after pressing "animate", is there any limit in AH3?
AH2 calculated the number of clouds differently and had a limit of something like 900.
In AH3, numbers are like 100000 or something with lots of zeros.

My cloud file renamed to "blksea.awa" causes the front end to crash.
It is a lot of clouds. 11 cloud fronts covering the whole 512x512 of the map.
Are there particular limits (like use less than X cloud fronts, or have max cloud count less than Y)?

That would be to much.
Not sure what the limit is but start with 50x50 mile boxes

Thanks, folks.
I have cloud files up and going now.
Was mostly just having fronts that were too wide and too deep (and perhaps too many fronts).
<S>!
However, I have noticed a couple of perhaps issues with the clouds themselves, which I will post in a separate topic.
