Title: German Sticks wanted In June (109s!)
Post by: SuBWaYCH on March 30, 2016, 11:14:15 AM
We've got a scenario upcoming in June and I am looking for some pilots who would be interested in flying 109G-6's.

We also have a fair amount of open slots right now, and with registration coming up in the next 2-3 weeks I want to get a solid idea of who can definitely commit to all four frames.

Scenario information can be found here:
http://electraforge.com/brooke/flightsims/scenarios/201606_BattleOfTheDnieper/rules.htm (http://electraforge.com/brooke/flightsims/scenarios/201606_BattleOfTheDnieper/rules.htm)

Drop a response here or send me a PM if you are interested!

Don't miss out on the glory!

This is a battle where many of the top Luftwaffe aces fought:  Hartmann, Barkhorn, Rall, Krupinski, Kittel, Nowotny, and others.

Time to get in there and and show what German fighters can do!

What is faster than a Yak-9T, Yak-7b, P-39Q, Il-2, and Tu-2?

I think I'm leaning towards a Lavochkin unless someone can come up with a hefty bribe that doesn't involve jugs of beer or boobies.  Maybe some of that Nazi gold if Pervert hasn't hidden it all in his back garden under the patio?

By the way, if you do fly Luftwaffe, I think you should avoid shooting my Il-2 or Tu-2 in recompense for the tip on the Ark of the Covenant.

We will inform the relevant commander of our position once we have had a long discussion over Tea and Biscuits, fully concluded reading the Sunday Times, watched England lose at Cricket and have awoken from our afternoon naps.

Shouldn't you be recruiting for your OWN side?!?

The Boss does not approve. You don't want to make the Boss angry, do you?

Still will MAKE time to kill some Luftwannabees.

Guys, if you can, don't be wishy washy -- please go for it, commit to flying at least 3 of the 4 frames, and register up.

You will be glad you did.

Yours will be the MIGHT AND THE GLORY!

You are very welcome to attend as a walkon.

If you find at any point before the start of the event that you can participate and will miss no more than one frame, please do register.

Also, I am giving you access to the Luftwaffe private forum so that you can keep up to date with the events and planning there if you wish.

Thanks.

I suggest this, though -- give it a try for a frame or two and see what you think.  See what it's like.  You might have fun.  And if you don't, you don't fly more in it.  Folks will enjoy flying with you even if every specific of the setup is not what you'd pick.

It's OK.

People tend to get very passionate about scenarios and designs.  I prefer that over people not caring at all.

If you can do it, though, please give it a try.  You might find that the fights do remind you of what you read in a book by Rall or Krupinski; or even if it's not that successful, you might find that it is at least still fun; and even if that's not the case and you say, "I tried it, but it's like what I thought -- not for me", at least the time you spent flying adds to the enjoyment and community of other players while it lasts.

Come on in!  The water is fine!  :aok

Yeah I got a good hit on him, but he kept coming. A few moments later he went in, maybe I PW'ed him. It was my only victory in the practice frame, but I'll take any victory I can get at this stage; I lost three 109s to his one LA, so the whole thing left me feeling pretty out of form and outclassed. Will be back for more! :)
