In the last few weeks I have made a change of country. In this change I realized many things. First of there is no country alliances spoken or unspoken, the ho'ing ganging and such is the same. On the positive note with in minutes of being a rook(from Bish) I was inundated with welcomes and vox invites. I was made completely welcome(except for thoorrr calling me a spy lol). I met a lot of the griefers I have flown against and have squadded with others. In the end changing counties kept me on board. Nothing against the Bish and I salute most of them.

I think it's good to move around once in a while (for those who don't switch regularly) to see this for yourself. There really isn't much difference, except nit country text has a lot more oinking and rooks have our top seekrut sheep ranch for the upper ranks. :bolt:

LD's moved in March towards the knights just for a single campaign. My first time ever. It was a much much more satisfying experience than I expected. Felt really comfortable. Great comradeship and really nice nice people there.
A big salute to all the knights (S)!

My squad rotates to a new country every month. One of the primary reasons why I joined it.

Ferrets do the same, and the OP refers to the reasons why. Politics, schmolitics.

Good mercenaries sell their services to the highest bidder. Rooks currently offer nightly visits to the sheep's pen, access to Bob's cranberry and prune still, a stipend of 50 invisible pesos a week and free venereal disease and diabetes treatment. Always on the lookout for a better deal.

good for you john galt,
I'll be going Rooks this month to get away from Zack.

I never change, I have in the past many times. but I dont have to anymore. it's true that each country believes there's a conspiracy and they are the ones getting ganged all the time.
but in the knights we dont care, we just furball at one base all day long while they take our undefended bases. why? cause we are too busy having fun, while the other 2 countries make it look like a chore.

Since my return to AH this past winter, I have switched sides each tour and have found that to be a very fun and interesting process. I've met a lot of players who I've never flown with, have been asked to join squad channels and fly with various squads and have really had a great time meeting all these different folks. I fight just as hard to help whatever side I am flying with that tour. And doing so for a whole tour gives me a chance to build a little camaraderie with that side, which is something I feel I've been able to do with all three countries.
One of the best compliments you can get in AH is when people on the side you join say things like "It's so good to see you green!" or "You gave us fits last month! So glad you are on our side!" To be respected as both a worthy foe and welcome friend is something to aspire to in the game, IMO.
I have great respect for the squads (like the AK's) who routinely fly different sides each tour. I'd like to see more squads do this, as it shakes things up and keeps the game from feeling stagnant with the same people on the same sides all the time. It's also easy to build up an animosity always flying against the same people, whereas flying with them gives you more insight into who they really are. If you think someone is a real A-hole, go fly on their side for a while -- best case, you'll find out they aren't the monster you think they are and worst case they'll remove all doubt and confirm what you thought. ;)
This is why I will continue to switch each month and happily fly with different squads in the MA. Whether you're a whole squad or a lone-wolfer, I suggest you give a side-switch a try too. You'll meet more people, gain new friends, frustrate a new "enemy" and most importantly, perhaps realize that even your most "hated opponents" are probably more like you than you think -- someone who enjoys this crazy sand-box world that is Aces High.

When I switch sides, the most common response is "WTF are you doing here?"
