Those of you who are having a noise issue with your VOX, please check the following and report the setting.
Right-click on the speaker ICON in the task bar. Select the "Audio Devices" option.
Click on the "Recording" tab, in the "Sound" dialog.
Double-click on the microphone.
Click on the "Advanced" tab.
Report the "Default Format" shown for your microphone.

Is there any chance this is a result of the play voices in sequence option?

Funny,I had a player with vox issues in AH2 an update of winblows seemed to reset many things on his computer. Once he got the vox working he sounded all scratchy and strange!
It turns out his mic had been set to "shotgun mic" in the mic types settings,not sure exact name. I wonder if this hasnt happened to others? Is this what you are looking for Skuzzy?

Mine is showing 2-channel, 16-bit, 44100 hz (CD Quality)
Under it, "Exclusive Mode" both boxes are checked.
