I've been using Track IR for about 6 months in AH2 but I am having trouble setting up rear views in Beta for AH3. Have FOV set at 120 (my preference) and am happy with that. But can't get the headrest away from my face in beta (Ki 43) for example. Any tips and tweaks for views using TIR would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Bixby :)

you need yup move your face forward then look back.

As Semp posted trackir starts from the saved head position.
Turn off trackir
Hit and release a keypad number like 6 to make sure the front view is in default.
Use arrow keys and pageup and down to set the head position you want then hit F10. In the text buffer you should see "Head Position Saved"

Yeah there seems to be a difference between AH2 and AH3 with regard to this.
In AH2 I set my views in the standard way (using keypad and arrow keys - F10 to set view) to 'move stuff out of the way', then select 'Default to Instant View' and 'Use TrackIR relative move'. This allows me to use the TrackIR and the programmed views together.
I set up a Spitfire IX and the Mossie Bomber in AH3 yesterday and it didn't seem to change anything.
Not ready to say this is a bug (because I am often wrong about that), but it was an unexpected result.
:salute

Now FLS added a slight head view down to the default head position in Beta if I remember right. You think that might be giving you some problems?

Thanks semp and guncrasher for responding, however, I do exactly as you suggest. I will try what Randy1 suggests which was to Default to Instant View. That setting is not currently selected.
My view in Spit IX is fine as I have it setup now. Ki 43 not good, Ki84 is fine. Thanks again. I will let you now how things work out.
Does anyone use True View in the TrackIR settings software ?

I meant I will try Ratsy's suggestion. Sorry about the mix up in names Randy1.

Depending on your true view setting I suggest leaning forward or backward while centering TrackIR. One of those will "shrink" the headrest.

I use Track IR and have for at least the last 10 years. I use it as it was delivered right out of the box. No adjustments, no special profiles. It works great in AHI, AH2, AH3.

Do you remember why FLS did that? :D
In any case it doesn't affect TrackIR.
Btw since your zoom key toggles looking straight ahead with looking at your instruments, zooming out let's you toggle the view without zoom. Unless you use TrackIR.

That's a pretty good profile Semp.
I didn't know that Natural point changed where they store the profiles, got very frustrated trying to get it to work, until google told me that they moved it to under Window/Users/appdata etc etc, instead of the old location in the NP directory where there is still profiles stored. Heh.
Anyhow, I had a similar one, just not quite as good, so I'm keeping yours, hah.

I use TrackIR Smooth Profile. 90 degree FOV (realism), and it works great with the way they implemented the new view system (which I freaking love now). Turning your head left or right gives a zoom and peak over the airplane. Very easy for spotting now, and very polished mechanism with TrackIR since you don't have to move your head much, and it sort of locks into the view nicely.
I also turn off The Roll and other axis on TrackIR. I only have Pitch and Yaw

Lean forward and to one side then look back.
