Title: Cannot download Beta - firewall freaks out
Post by: Kirin on May 06, 2016, 01:40:21 AM
Greetings aces

The Rift 'support' of the open beta sparked another comeback! Problem is I cannot download the beta because my firewall freaks out. I get following error:

Gateway Anti-Virus Alert

This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus Service. Name: HLLP.E (Trojan)

Is there a way around it? Is there a d/l mirror?

Can you not just turn it off in your router settings? Until you get the download done

does your router have a DMZ setting?

or a gaming mode setting?

What type/model of router is it?

Hope this helps

That is a false trigger and it would not matter what server it came from.  It is triggering on the actual data in the download.

TQ, yeah - it's a bit complicated. I draw my private internet from my business line which has elevated security. I do have a hardware firewall which should have the private part configured as DMZ. But that Sonic Wall thingy seems to be overly sensitiv also blocking all kinds of URLs and I also had trouble downloading the Vive-Setup - I actually tethered my PC to the mobile for that. The firewall is setup by an external IT company and I lack the expertise to tinker with it alone.

I will get a second broadband line by the end - solely for private usage. So I either wait or try the tethering thing again - depending on download size... :)

You just need to allow the server IP. Check your instructions or give the server IP to your IT company.

It is a false positive. For some reason GAV heuristics got a bit more aggressive recently.

Either...
Go to Security Services/Gateway Antivirus, "Look Up Signature Containing String" and enter HLLP.E  . Uncheck the enable button.

Or
Go to Network Address Objects. Create a group object and call it DPI-Bypass.
Create a host object, call it AH Downloads, IP address    67.228.0.74.  Create another network range object call it HTC Servers, IP addresses 71.252.137.153 - 71.252.137.154.
Add the two address objects to the DPI-Bypass group object.
Go to Security Services/Gateway AV. Click on configure Gateway AV settings. Check the box that says "Enable Gateway AV Exclusion List". Select Use Address Object, and then select the DPI-Bypass Object.
(I'd recommend doing the same for antispyware, IPS, and App control).
