Title: Display Problems with Second Monitor
Post by: Badger85 on May 10, 2016, 10:49:00 AM
Hi all,

I've connected my laptop to a monitor. Aces High displays properly when my laptop screen is set as the "main display," but when I set my second monitor to be such, the following disjointedness of colors occurs:

You can see that the screen has a red tint and the color "channels" are not aligning properly. This does not occur to any other program when I set my second monitor as the "main display." Is there any way to correct this? I'd rather not play Aces High just on my laptop screen.

Thank you!

The video card is using a generic monitor driver file (INF).  Try loading the actual INF file.  This can happen if the monitor has a different resolution or different timing than the attache laptop screen does.

It should be happening with any DirectX application, as the application has no control over this problem.

Can you point me to a tutorial on the web on how to do this, please? I've checked my Control Panel and it seems that the driver for that monitor is up to date.

Does this have anything to do with what the source is for processing color?

The easiest thing to do is to type in the "brand" and "model" of your monitor and "driver" which should take you to the manufacturer's site where you can find the proper monitor.

RANT:

This is a well known problem with MICROSOFT, which forced everyone down this hardware trail and then after all these years still has not got it working properly. You are not alone. Even if you spent multi-thousands on a color corrected monitor and associate a color profile for you (as a user) and set the monitor as your standard "default" Windows will still screw it up.

I just needed to say that.
