Hada screen freeze when taking off from a CV which was my first action after entering the Carter map. After restarting the computer to clear the screen, I could not get the problem to reoccur on CV, airbase or GV.

Ran Updater Beta 20 to Beta 21 w\o a hitch.
Tried to open Beta 21 Dx11 version.....got the same error message "Can't open program due to 3D3COMPILER_43.dll is missing from your computer............"

Double vision is still there but closer together. The cv1 has a mechanical ipd adjustment whereas the dk2 was a software adjustment either in the oculus config or the app. With 1.4 there is no way to adjust ipd with software?
When I entered offline practice, the mouse cursor was non responsive and clicks in the clipboard did nothing. Started task Mgr to close and program was non responsive.

My new CPU/Motherboard arrived this morning. So hopefully I can test it with the DK2 tonight.
My ESXi server gets the new motherboard/CPU/RAM (I needed to bump it 32Gb, it's amazing how many boards only support 16Gb)
My gaming box gets the ESXi old mbd/cpu/ram
My oldest son gets my gaming boxes old mbd/cpu/ram
My middle son gets my oldest sons old pc/mbd/cpu/ram
My youngest son gets the middle sons old laptop
Gonna be a busy weekend...

Changing the mechanical ipd has an effect. I have a very wide ipd so mine is set at the extreme of about 70. I moved it all the way to the other extreme and then came back and it was moving to converge but I ran out of adjustment before the images fully closed together. If you could do more of whatever you did for beta 21, I think it might work.
The cursor I saw was the AH one. I just tried the alt tab and then click close window on the task bar icon. AH didn't close and the AH cursor worked so I clicked quit and it worked but on the next screen it quit working again. This is new to beta 21. The cursor worked find in beta 20?

Can't get curser to go to online or off line on clip board. It disappears and shows up at the bottom of the screen.

Since I saw this online and offline while testing Dx11.
1. - Enemy blue icon on map stayed persistent at the location of the con's crash for 5 minutes after the crash.
2. - FPS is now 50's-60 in the tower, wow.
3. - Lettering for Icons is thin wire frame making the ability to see it sometimes problematical even at larger fonts.
4. - Tracers are almost invisible making lead with AAA of any kind problematical. The tracer flair was integral to judging lead with AAA.
5. - Offline on my gunnery terrain, the CV bridge has always been 20's-30s. Now 50's-60.
6. - Tree detail inside of 1.5 miles is blurred and dark opposed to it being crisp in the Dx9 version.

PC rebuild sorted my problems. I need to rebuild all my control settings next :)

Windows 7 Pro x64
App crash to desktop when starting offline or online entering arena. Requires ctrl-alt-del to get mouse cursor back. Same event message for both types of crash.

In another thread Skuzzy posted about this problem. He suggested it could be an out of date video driver. I updated mine having the same problem you did and that fixed the problem.

I did change something just prior to getting it functioning. Then, I changed it back and it still functions. :uhoh

I changed the texture size in video setting screen. It showed 2048, and I changed it to 512. Worked immediately afterwards. Then I stepped it back up to 2048, testing between and haven't had a crash upon startup on Arena since (edit: now 4096 no problems).
I delayed describing the change, so as not to interfere with bug testing or to spread bad information. I wasn't sure if it was coincidence or related to the change.

Went into Beta 21 under C:\Hitech Creations and checked all files.
Only saw 3D3X9_43.dll listed for Dx9............no 3D3COMPILER_43.dll listed for Dx11.
Ran Updater Beta 20 to Beta 21 again.....updater ran w\o a hitch.
Checked Beta 21 under C:\Hitech Creations again and still no 3D3COMPILER_43.dll shows listed for Dx11, only 3D3X9_43.dll for Dx9.
Tried executing Beta 21 Dx11 version again and got the same error message "can't start program due to 3D3COMPILER_43.dll is missing from your computer".
For some reason that I can't find this file is not installing.
So I turned Kapersky A\V off then reran Updater Beta 20 to Beta 21 again....updater ran w\o a hitch.
Again checked Beta 21 under C:\Hitech Creations and still no 3D3COMPILER_43.dll shows listed for Dx11, only 3D3X9_43.dll shows listed for Dx9.
So it appears that my A\V software isn't the issue at this time.
Waiting on directions.

Update:
Went on MS site & downloaded the Directx June 2010 redistribution pack & ran it on my box to reinstall Dx11.
Beta 21 Dx11 version is now working.

Went up in Beta 21 Dx11 version & flew around in me ole Spitty...................
Showing a large improvement in Beta performance on my box w\ Dx11 version vs Dx9 version.
At same airfield sitting on runway using same settings.....Dx9 FPS @ 69, Dx11 FPS @ 80 (AMD FRTC set FR).
Dx11 version runs very sweet on my box......holds 80 FPS across the board so far, even on the deck.
Only item that I've found so far is the gamma setting seems to be locked at what looks like either .9 or 1.

These were snipped after running Beta 21 in both versions using the exact same ingame settings in the same environment.
Looks like the Dx11 version is more resource efficient at this time..........a boon for users w\ older equipment if this holds.

I downloaded dx11 version but it opens using dx9 everytime., I unintalled it and then downloaded the full version of dx11 and it still does the same thing.

Go to your start orb, then go to Aces High Beta and click on the DX11 EXE file. They are two different programs.

Sound issues:
No bomber engine sounds.
Flap sounds are truncated; don't play the entire sound.
?? length of speed of sound; extraordinarily long.
During AI Mission, more than one kill awarded for the same AI listed.

I updated DX and installed the latest beta driver for the Ati 5870. After that I couldn't run the DX9 version because I'd changed the resolution slightly for bezel compensation and it was trying to start in 640x480. I set the proper resolution and the DX9 version runs again but the DX11 version still crashes with exception offset 000d068e.

There is a patch of terrain that stretches from directly below the aircraft to a mile or so in front and to the sides where the trees are much darker than the surrounding terrain. This area moves around with the plane as it changes direction and is not present in the DX 9 version.
Initially there was some hesitation as I used the hat switch to change snap views but this seemed to go away after a minute or so.
Otherwise it ran fine without crashing.

This is some type of shadow issue, do you have shadows enabled or disabled?

I've got shadows and everything else turned on/to maximum except environmental mapping which is at one notch.

I too had noticed this as well.
I noticed this started to occur when I increased the tree detail slider past a certain point from the far left setting (least detail). When I went in & moved the slider back to the least detail setting position this stopped.
Didn't think much about it until your post & Hitech's response.

Although the DX9 version updates and runs perfectly, the DX11 version crashes each time I select an arena in online play, and if I select off line practice.

I tried going to the beta file and starting the dx11 exe file but it crashed to desk top, I went and got the june 2010 and installed it and it copied and installed lots of new files but it still crashed to desktop. I am using win10.

Disregard my post number 8. The cursor does work and the program responds but the cursor position is way below the click point. I was trying the beta 21 again and I would put the cursor on the menu item and nothing would happen but I was just moving the mouse around and I saw a flash of white on one of the clipboard menu items. After that I found the area to move the mouse to make it work.
I also have to change my assessment of the effect of moving the mechanical ipd adjustment. I tried it again and it really had a small to no effect on the double vision. I do not know why I thought so earlier?

my DX-11 now working changed texture size to 512 and resolution to 1024/768 loaded and ran when selection of the arena
changed back to 1024 texture and 1920/1080 and it is now working,
now idea what this changed did to cause the DX11 version to work?????????????

I tried Darkhawk's fix on PC2. I changed textures from 1024 to 512 and DX11 loaded and ran. I set textures back to 1024 and DX11 still loaded and ran. I did not change my screen resolution. Worked online and offline.

My machine has DX11. It runs the DX9 fine. As a matter of fact when I dloaded and installed this version of the Beta it was from the start Menu. "Your version is out of date would you like to update?" I did make that and installed and ran. It started in DX9. Had the "fishbowl effect" and deleted the gui.cfg file, restarted DX9 , it is running fine. When I start AH Beta (using the icon on my desktop, it starts me in DX9.) To start the DX11 version I have to go to the hitech creations folder where I find an icon for the DX11 version.
Again, when I click to start the DX11 version it takes me eventually to the arena start screen (selection). I click on Greebos map where one should see the installing of the game files etc. and the game just quits, nothing dloaded it just quits to desktop.

All was working well w\ both Dx9 and Dx11 versions on my box yesterday then all of a sudden the Dx9 version will still run OK but at the opening screen the ingame mouse pointer won't scroll down to the selections now. It stops just above the menus then the mouse pointer will show up in the task bar. When I move the pointer to the right side the ingame pointer also stops approx. 2\3 of the way to the right then the pointer will show up at the far right edge. The only way I can access the menus is to move the clipboard as far to the top of the screen as I can so that the ingame mouse pointer can assess the menus. So far I haven't found the cause of this.
Now after doing this I then tried to run the Dx11 version. The opening screen opens just fine w\ no issues w\ the mouse pointer as I described for the Dx9 version, goes to the online selection screen, select Greebo's MA map then the game crashes. Tried over & over to find out what the issue is as all was working just fine before w\ no success.
Then I read your post, went & changed the texture size in Video Settings from 4096 to 512, saved then went online and all went thru OK. Exited the game OK then restarted Dx11, went in Video Settings, changed the texture size back to 4096 then went online and all went thru OK as well. Exited the game OK then restarted the Dx9 version but got the same weird mouse issue as described above but when I shut it down and restarted the Dx11 version all goes thru just fine now...........
Haven't figured this out yet but am working on this.
I have ran a full scan on my box, including a rootkit scan & nothing was found to date.
No other app\game I have is affected w\ the mouse issue except AH Beta 21 Dx9 version.

Dx11 last version would crash after selecting arena..... This is after deleting the file that caused the fishbowl.
After this update DX11 starts and runs great. DX9 has been running great.
I fly in DX11 most of the time now. I have heard of issues during game but have not experienced any of my own yet.

After reading a few posts,I decided to give it another go. I opened DX11 and set texture to 512...BINGO, went right through. Changed it back to 1024 and BINGO still went through. Who would have thunk it!!! So far seems it is working great, thanks GUYS

Update:
After working this issue some more I have found that the AH Beta 21 Dx11 version is auto setting itself in shortcut's Properties, Compatibility tab on my box to disable display scaling in game if it sees high DPI settings (this causes the opening screen to not scale to full screen and this was carrying over to the Dx9 version on initial opening which was causing the mouse issues...even though this is not checked in AH Beta 21 Dx9 version's shortcut Properties, Compatibility tab).
Now in Windows I do have my display scaling setting set for 150% scaling to make the texts and icons easier for me to see on the desktop @ 2560 x 1440 res and I have never noticed this to occur in AH in times past until now.
Now I also do note a dialog box opening on 2 occasions after I had reinstalled Dx11 and fixed the "3D3COMPILER_43.dll is missing" issue and had ran the Dx11 Beta that suggested that I might reset my Windows theme to Windows Basic (to disable Windows Aero...assuming due to either a conflict or due to 3D resources) but I did not do this. When I run the Dx9 version I have never noticed this dialog box to pop up in times past or even now. After the 2nd occasion I haven't seen it show up again.
Once I clicked on upper right box to maximize the screen this rescaled the window which fixed the mouse issue, even if I click the same box to rescale the window back to normal size and all stays fixed until I reboot my box which then the issue starts all over again.
Now that I know what's going on I can work w\ this but it seems that the Dx11 Beta version has an issue w\ desktop display scaling set above the default of 100%. I have unchecked this box, clicked Apply and run the game and upon closing the game then checked this in shortcut's Properties, Compatibility tab and found this setting rechecked so this is being done by the Beta 21 Dx11 version game reading the display settings.

PS--I also remembered that since AMD's Crimson 16 series drivers there is a setting to set a game's display scaling setting in the game profile and I had this set to Full Panel (this profile works w\ both DX9 and Dx11 versions of AH Beta) so I also set this setting to Off so the Crimson driver won't attempt to set the display scaling as well since the game is auto setting itself by reading the desktop display settings itself.
So far, so good.

Update:
Now I know that it was the AMD Crimson driver display scaling setting that was causing the game to "auto select to disable display scaling on high DPI scaling" in Dx11 version shortcut's Properties, Compatibility tab, not AH itself. Doesn't affect the Dx9 version, only the Dx11 version.
Another 1 worked out on my end.....................

I was testing game crash when pressing the offline game mode button with DX11. When you change texture modes in DX9 it causes DX11 to crash when next you bring up DX11. Then if you delete video8.cfg and bring DX11 back up, it runs fine, and you can change texture modes. DX9 is not effected by this when next you run the beta in DX9 beta version.
What was crashing DX11 is this line missing in the video8.cfg when changing texture modes in DX9.

I'm finding in the DX9 beta version when I'm in the CV bridge or on the exterior O'Club catwalk, my FPS in any texture mode is 20's-30. In DX11 beta version 50's-60.

Besides the missing bomber engine sounds, and clipped flap sounds, has anyone else noticed "unstable" GV engine/ track sounds (sometimes intermittent on and off when starting to move)?
Besides the gamma slider not taking effect, does anyone else have problems with the filmviewer window unable to go to fullscreen or even to resize the windows or reposition them?
