This morning a C-5A (tail code unreadable because of some kind of colorful design) and a squadron of USN T-6s (tail code E) were at the Louisville International Airport. Is there any way I could look up why they were there? Also, what is the deal with the C-5a not having a readable tail code? It had a horizontal colorful design running the full width of the vertical stabilizer.

Those would be t34s based out of Whiting Florida, Training Air Wing 5.
Now the C5a ... might take a little more digging..

Yep. As for why the T-6s were there, was there a concert in town? An Air Show? Some kind of chili cookoff? In Primary training, we get the opportunity to take the plane basically anywhere in the country we want, and the destination is generally chosen to go see a concert, catch a big sports game, or if the IP has a long distance girl he hasn't nailed in a while... So I guess for some reason a bunch of folks felt like going to Louisville!
