Tonight I was in a Hurricane II at approx 8K. I was just inside the radar circle with no bad guys in sight. Suddenly I received a pilot wound and died. I looked to see who had shot me down but instead of a System message saying so and so shot you down. I had a HOST message saying you have been killed.
Like I said, no one around. I was close to a coast line but I saw no CV and no flak bursts.

A perfect reason for auto record.
Did you ask "so and so" how they did it?

if you filmed every flight, you would have your answer.

Shadow play is nice for those times too. Depending on settings, hit alt +f9 and mine saves the last 9 minutes of what just happened on your screen.
You can't see from the outside but you can pay more attention to what is happening.

My guess is that someone sneaked up on you and shoot you down but due to Connection issues the kill was not registered properly

one ping puffy ack............good to 36k

My best guess would be one ping puffy as well. You wouldn't even see it if it was an instakill.

If there's a truly dumb thing about AH... and I mean, without needing ANY dumb-player help. viola!

Hey, that's realistic. Remember, the ack is aiming at you. Reminds me of the man who tried to shoot a bird sitting up in a treetop, missed and instead managed to kill his brother who was sitting by the campfire a mile away. True story.
