New version up (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,379732.0.html)!
Please use this thread to post errors/issues with the Patch 24 DX11 version of the Aces High III Beta. Thank you.
-
Installed patch no issues. Message window transparency is fixed for both dx versions.
-
Mental note: When cleaning build errors that say "empty object", check to make sure empty object is not a reference to an external object before selecting and deleting empty objects. In other words, the KI61 gunsight is fixed for next patch.
-
Just tested and the cv1 rift double vision is gone. Mouse disappears for some clipboard Windows. Example preferences/flight, the mouse is ok anywhere outside the window where you select the items. It just diapppears. I only had a short time to test and will check more windows tomorrow. I will also try the Vive and controllers.
Thanks for fixing all the double vision. I can now resume happy hour

TrackIR isn't recognized. I am not sure I can do without it, sort of handicapped, so its a real issue for me. I have hard time with fine motor skills, like hat switch manipulation. I will give it a go though...if I can remember how to remap my hat switches lol (kidding,I can remember) :neener:

You just secretly broke a bunch of hearts. Game wise, only the reticle sitting in the windscreen is a gamers dream. Any chance you can make the same booboo with the sunscreen on the Type98 in the A6m family......

My trackir works.

My trackir works.
Mine doesn't, so it's probably a new setting. Where should we go to select TrackIR?

When I first opened this current version (24) my tir did drop out. I closed the game, made sure tir was running, hi-lighted AH in the current profile tab in tir, then restarted the game and it has worked since.

Still no joy. I never had to highlight any profile before...tried it and no change. I tried every profile under AH2 in "titles" tab, still nothing. Maybe its a diff situation, depending on TIR version? I run TIR5 :bhead

Ran Updater Patch 23 to 24 and all went fine w\o a hitch.
Went in Properties, Compatibility tab under both shortcuts and unchecked "disable display scaling on high DPI settings".
Opened both Beta 24 Dx versions and got the same in game mouse pointer scaling issue in windowed screen as reported earlier starting w\ Beta 22 thru 23. Closed out, went back in Properties, Compatibility tab under both shortcuts and checked "disable display scaling on high DPI settings". Closed out, opened both Beta 24 Dx versions and in game mouse scaling issue in windowed screen is gone.
Both Beta 24 Dx9 and Beta 24 Dx11 versions opened up and exited fine in both online and offline.
Beta 24 Dx9 version runs fine and smooth (65 FPS in tower w\ in flight FPS @ 79-80 smooth (AMD FRTC setting of 80 FPS w\ FreeSynch enabled) w\ all set up in Beta default settings except as noted in last posting for Beta 23 Dx9\Dx11.
Beta 24 Dx11 version runs but still seeing the same issues as reported earlier since Beta 22 Dx11 (44-45 FPS in tower w\ in flight FPS @ 54-56 w\ choppy "double loping w\ a short delay between lopes" motion as opposed to 79-80 FPS in tower w\ in flight FPS @ 79-80 smooth in Beta 21 Dx11). While in flight I did reset the Beta 24 Dx11 graphics slider settings back to default and for approx. 2 mins the FPS did jump from 54-56 to 79-80 and smoothed out but then went back to doing the same choppy double loping motion and FPS back to the same 54-56 range. Once back in tower I then disabled both bump mapping and detail graphics processing and noticed the tower FPS went up from 44-45 FPS to 79-80 FPS in tower for approx. 2 mins then went back down to 44-45 FPS. Enabled both bump mapping and detail graphics processing and noted no change...stayed at 44-45 FPS.
Other than this all good on my end.
Continuing to test......................

Go into Settings/Preferences/VR and make sure Disable VR is NOT checked.

Tested a LVT4 and in external view it looks like the bow wave is ~30 ft below the LVT.

Was reading this thread and saw Hitech's response that gave direction to a poster that uses TIR to go into Settings\Preferences\VR and uncheck "Disable VR" checkbox to get TIR working.........
So I went and checked and there it was............
I found "Disable VR" checkbox unchecked by default (tech tip reads that this will disable VR testing when a VR headset is available).
So, if I'm understanding this right, a VR headset (or TIR tracker) has to be recognized by the Beta in Video Settings as a display choice before these VR in game settings become active?
Or are these VR settings active regardless of the display choice in Video Settings and so will need to come here and check the checkbox that disables VR?
Well I checked the checkbox to disable VR (to see if this makes a difference w\ the in game running issues that I've witnessed on my Fury X running Beta 22, 23, 24 Dx11) then went in game to see the result:
In the tower I saw the same 44-45 FPS after disabling VR. On the runway I actually saw the FPS go up to 79-80 FPS and stay there until I started up the ole Merlin in me ole Spitty Mk IX at which time the FPS dropped back down to 34-44 FPS. Took off and noticed the same double loping w\ a short delay between graphics motion as reported earlier w\ FPS running in the same 54-56 range.
Tested this in Beta 24 Dx9 version and found no change in Beta 24 Dx9 version performance posted earlier (all good).
Continuing w\ testing.............

I also have version 5. I tested the dx9 and dx11 versions with TIR off to check the message window transparency. When I started TIR and ran the beta later for more testing TIR worked the first time. I didn't have to do anything to get it working.
-
Update: When I tested TIR it was with DX11. That works. DX9 is not recognized by TIR.
Also F8 still does not set views to pan.
-
Ok, TracIR does NOW work in DX11. WHEW!!! I logged in to check the "VR" option box and TIR was lit up this time  So now all is well in my world!! Thanks guys!

Flying the Spit16 I lost control input in a turn. No blackout. Next flight no issues. Blackout and redout working. Don't recall if I saw blackout working in the flight prior to losing control. Wasn't checking g when I lost control input but I was holding a flat turn and slowing down. Unable to duplicate.
-
Go into Settings/Preferences/VR and make sure Disable VR is NOT checked.
Did that. No joy.

AH3 disable black out and enable red-out and G-LOC?

Did that. No joy.

Still wont work in DX9 but in DX11 it does work. At least mine and some others do. Make sure you start in DX11 version.

When alt-tabbing out and returning to the game the game is no longer centered on the monitor.

Flew into combat with another player attacking our friendly LARGE airfield. The game locked up suspiciously at the same time that all the field ack was firing at the attacker. My framerates had also taken a huge drop.
Fault offset: 0x00019803
Game locked, and was only able to regain response from my computer accessing the task manager Alt, Cntrl, Del keyboard stroke, and even then it took some time and a second keyboard command to access the task manager.
My uneducated guess is there is a connection to the "ack" and proximity to it.
Edit: I just had a second event. This time it was a straight up CTD (crash to desktop). This time flying dead six of burning B29s firing (tracers visible) and CTD occurred just after I had taken the wing off the burning bomber and possibly it was exploding (only had a split second view of large debris).

tried everything in posts TIR still not working
-
TrackIR works fine. Have you tried making your profile exclusive in Tir software?
Program lockup when I used auto takeoff from CV in f6f. The only way to get out was shutdown the pc and restart

Did you check that you're running the DX11 version? It doesn't work in the DX9 version in this patch.

I see others have the same problem. Trackir not working. I'm going back to 2 to play. no trackir no me!

popeye,
Did you skip an update? Possibly you may need to do a fresh install. See what the folks at HiTech have to say about that error, don't go by my suspicions.
-
Kimosabe,
It seems to me others were able to run TIR fine. The problem was located by HiTech quite a few posts ago and the fix was a simple check box. If you scroll down you might find some helpful information, sorry I am not more help... but you should be able to use your TIR now.

Chillie that was simply a test, trackir works in DX11 , it will not work in DX9 version. I already fixed the bug for the next patch.

Testing with cv1 I was unable to duplicate the mouse problem above. On the second try I did go to that window in the tower before trying in the plane and it worked in both.
Still have double vision in tanks sights. Main gun sight very zoomed in?
On a carrier hangar very zoomed in and not usable. PT boat/water screwed up.
I had several crashes but have not figured out the sequence to reproduce consistently. I think had to do with oculus home witch still starts no matter how the questions answered?

Only way to stop that is to go into Options/preferences/vr and disable vr.

It is possible this is a coincidence but, normally with my CH Fighterstick I have never had to perform the following to get AH2 or the alpha\beta to accept control or button inputs from it. This may be related to the phantom high speed loss of control input reported by some.
Today I opened the DX11 version and launched a fighter at an air spawn offline. The only thing I did before that was to check and see that VR was disabled in the clipboard then launched. The fighter did not respond to control inputs or pulling the trigger. Checked the control mapping and the Fighterstick was there, x,y and no buttons would respond. Closed down DX11 and opened DX9 then launched a fighter at the same air spawn. Same problem so I exited, pulled, then reconnected the USB connection for my controllers and both DX9\DX11 responded to Fighterstick inputs.

I have had to reload settings in CH Manager on many occasions. I usually do it now right before I am going to log in as a habit. It has been that way in AH II for awhile also. Reload once and all is good for the evening.

I use the game to map buttons.
-
The mouse cursor will not go below the account admin line on the clipboard unless the window is full size. Instead it skips to below the window. This was when running a reduced resolution in game vs the monitor, 1920x 1080 in game and monitor resolution 2560x1440.
After setting game resolution back to 2560x1440 the copyright and game version notice had moved from the left side of the window to the right and ran off-screen.
Edit: It looks like exiting the game is what causes it not the mixed resolution.

DX11 Online\Offline
This spot at one of the villages on the ring round around the TT object on CraterMA has trees growing in the road which capture and hold my Panther tank. Offline on my gunnery terrain, the trees pitch the nose of the Panther up, then sink part of the rear end into the road while holding the tank. During one test offline, the trees released the Panther which then sank up to the bottom of the turret into the road. I ran a build against my terrain with beta 24 before finding this.

the ring round around the TT object = the ring ROAD around the TT object.......sorry my bad spelling..... :O

Very amazing air action today near A64. For a very brief time only once, and not repeated but the game stuttered during close combat and near friendly small airfield with ack firing. This is the first instance besides the very low framerates over large airfields with ack firing. Note, it feels similar to the lag/ stutter I receive when large bomber AI mission is running with multiple attackers nearby.
-
AI Bomber Mission, player flown plane (B17) won't warp to spawn home.

TR has not worked for me in beta24 with DX11 or DX9.

Bustr,
Even after this:
Go into Settings/Preferences/VR and make sure Disable VR is NOT checked.

Because I originally looked at the VR page in the clip board out of curiosity to see what it was, I got a VR.cfg file generated. I Just deleted it minutes ago and TR works in DX11 now.

Ditto, and I have everything mapped through AH, NOT the CH control stuff too.
This little program comes in handy for me at least - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html "usbdeview" is the name of the program.
You can view all USB devices, and enable, disable, virtually unplug, etc, all without having to physically plug/unplug your stuff, or switch off your powered hub and such. Some games like Star Citizen and others, if they detect a usb joystick at all, it'll default to it and not let you use mouse control properly, so this program is great for disabling HOTAS prior to jumping into such games where you don't want it. Also, for when I've had Ah2/3 issues of for unknown reasons the sticks not showing up or working, just disabling/enabling them with usbdeview quickly solves the issue for me.

M3 with howlitzer will launch without ammo. :huh Check the ammo counter when you launch that option = "0".

I could not get into the gun (position 2) in either wirblewind or M18. Thought it might be my "2" key, but works normally in a Panther.
I have been "snared" by trees in GV's three times and had to tower. Happens when going between two trees that are close together. Get too close to one and "gotcha", no getting loose after that.
