Title: AAA at night....accuracy? blankets of random fire?

so far, i haven't been able to fly in the "black" yet.

Was just curious as to how the acks reacted at night. And how "should" they act?

Should there be less accuracy since, from the ground, you would barely be able to make out the AC if at all. And what about spot lights...i remember movies of bombers over cities that were lit up via searching spot lights on the ground.

Anyone know facts about how AAA was in real life at night? Were they radar operated? Were they just aimed at the genreal direction of the sound of the AC engines? or did they just blanket the sky in a wall of explosives?

88's historically had  some sort of radar acquistion, though primitive, I believe.

There was a way that most radio's could be tuned into a radar frequency, and often did override the frequency an allied pilot was on. The universal clue that your getting to close  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

it depend , usualy the bofors users fire to blank askin god to help
for high alt  the used some kinda exo acusticstuf later a radar  the germans on flak  4 x 2o  used auto gunsight and lotsa training :-) anyway   they say if u go low and fast u got soem chance to live
 in ah the ack track u even beter damit and the y see u  even when behind hangar
 tried in night the ack shot at half range !!! something about 2 k
got upsed when the fast firesmal ack explodet my in panzer in night  got back in plane and see the ack  shot below 2 k
