We hope to get lots of people playing the last frame of "Battle of the Dnieper" Scenario. We need to fill it out.
It is the last frame, and it runs on Saturday, June 25th, at 3 pm Eastern in Special Events II arena. (That is 8 pm London, 7 pm UTC.)
Please join us then if you can. Bring friends if you can.
Please help us conclude this scenario as a great success -- all it needs is your participation.
Can you join us and have a great time? Yes! :aok
Bf 190G-6's, FW 190A-5's, FW 190F-8's, Ju 88's vs. La-5's, Yak-9T's, Yak-7b's, P-39Q's, Il-2's, and Tu-2's in an Eastern Front battle.
-
Folks, can you make it on Saturday at 3 pm Eastern?
-
There was a time when players would sit for hours waiting, hoping just to be a walk-on for a scenario.
Today's players think this is just another XBOX gamin, only thing they care about is Furballin & spawn camping.
Maybe it is time to let AH just die off......... with todays players it will never be like it was in the days of AW, WB or AH 15 years ago.

I Should be able to play this weekend. Sign me up for a G6, especially in a unit where I'll be able to shoot lots of reds.

You will absolutely get that! :aok

I have yet to be able to make one frame. Disappointing but I have been so busy. Hopefully I can be there this Saturday.
-
I made the practice frame and had a hoot..
I recommend it wholeheartedly.
Life got in the way for me with the other frames..moving house mainly.
If by any chance I can make the last one I will...BUT the odds are stacked against it.
Have a fun time..for the motherland comrades!!

While I can understand this point of view, looking back on 17 years of AH myself, and remembering the times when it was at its peak numbers wise and such, I don't believe your point to be true. Hell, look at all the WW2 games out there going gangbusters, and I mean as in hundreds of thousands of players, arguably a million players combined. WT, World of Tanks, World of Warships, IL2, and so on. Nope, the popularity of WW2 games is at an all time high. It's just that AH has been in its own little corner for quite a while, but as of last year+, IMO HTC has really stepped on the gas to do something about that, and is mearsureably and thoughtfully putting together a new product and plan which can and will be able to take advantage of all that WW2/planes/etc gaming interest on the net. It's easily the product with the most potential for a MM online WW2 combat sim/game, and it'll always have a somewhat niche spot on that world, regardless of how its presented or changed, but that's not a bad thing at all. I've said this for the last few years, others too, that if only 3 or 4 % of those gamers playing other WW2 online games mentioned come over here and give this a whirl, capturing and keeping just 10% of that 3-4% of those players will = servers filled to bursting here.
It CAN be done, it isn't rocket science, although creating AH3 certainly qualifies as that from my perspective, but the plan to market and capture players already into this sort of thing isn't really all that complex. HTC has a lot of resources we'll never know about in this regard I'll bet. There is also community guys that could help a ton with this too, AckAck's job was gaming intelligence for one of the biggest gaming companies in the world, and there are others too here with knowledge that could be tapped.
Once AH3 is live and on the air, I don't think it'll be long before issue numero uno - the numbers - will fix itself in short order. Then we can all go back to complaining about other minutia, as the lack of numbers issue being resolved IMO fixes a while pile of other issues all on its own. AH3 is coming at a great time, where the hardware to play this game is becoming more powerful, with GPU/CPU/systems of incredible performance compared to just a few years ago can be built for 1000$ or less. A lot of controller/VR stuff coming along as well. Where the quoted blurb from the OP sees doom, I see a very bright potential future for AH and gaming in general. I mean, weren't the wonder consoles supposed to have killed off PC gaming? Hah, didn't quite work out that way did it, if anything it just made the "pie" bigger.
Due to snafus involving upgrading our gaming PCs, I was left without a gaming rig for the previous frames, but I'm GTG for this one, and will be there too.

3 pm Eastern to show up for a walk-on slot, or does the frame start at 3 pm?

Think I'll be able to make this one. Sign me up in a G6 as Violator's bait.

By the way, folks, above is an image of the great Zardoz imploring AH players to fly on Saturday in the Great Fourth Frame of the epic Battle of the Dnieper! :aok

Dan (Guppy) has asked our squad to step up and fill positions in P 39s.

I love the P-39. If I were flying what I wanted rather than what I thought would be very hard to fill, I would have picked P-39's! :aok
-
Folks, we especially need Luftwaffe pilots.
Frame 3, the LW was down by 8 pilots compared to VVS -- we need to get them up to parity for frame 4.
-
Join up on the Luftwaffe -- get your chance at shooting down ROC! It's like a dunk tank at the county fair, only with cannon rounds!
Or, be the first guy on your block to shoot down Bruv. Is he a man? A machine? Some sort of human/bird hybrid? Well, if someone shoots him down, you can explore the wreckage afterwards and find out! Do it for science!
There is also Zack. He's out there somewhere, that commie. He's out there sneering at capitalism, reading Marx while flying his Yak. Teach him that flying and reading bad fiction don't mix.

Is Zardoz like Brokeback Mountain.

Shuffler! Excellent.

Funny most of my old buddies who don't play anymore are furballers...not base takers, I'd say you guys turning the game into whack a mole drove the most numbers away. IMO
Brooke, if I make it in time I'll be glad to fill a G6 with Subway :salute

Frame 2 they were down by 4 and beat us, imagine the possibility if they had a full house!
On the other hand, Fly Russian Planes also, we are not simply going to hand them a win ;)

Yes, but with Sean Connery and half-naked women. And a giant floating head.

III/JG52 is always in need of good pilots. As long as you don't mind flying with me, I don't care. II/JG52, is also in need of pilots as well.
Look forward to seeing you all there Saturday :salute
