In his prime most definitely.  But Dave lost a step after he hurt his back.

The legacy of the Spurs might be found in the number of players who arrived, did their job with passion and professionalism, and eventually left the franchise just a little bit better than how they found it.  That kind of lasting positive influence is rare in any profession and is rare enough in professional sports.

A comment from ESPN this morning gave me pause.  "Tim Duncan might have been the last 'un-branded' player in the NBA."

I hope that is not even close to accurate.
