:airplane: OK, been through this before, the instrument panel is so dark I can't see hardly any of the instruments! What do I do to "light" up the instrument panel. I just can't remember what you are suppose to do, but I am 81, pushing 82 and would appreciate some help with this. I like the AH3 version and think it will do wonders for membership!

Turn shadows off.

Turn shadows off.
:airplane: Oops, didn't work, turned off what you suggested and is still the same!

Earl try "disable post lighting" in graphics options.
-
you could also bump up the gamma setting. It would brighten everything but it may help you.
-
I've had the same issue. Disabling post lighting helped some but I still needed to increase gamma to a point where everything else was slightly more washed out than I like. Leaving post lighting enabled and increasing gamma to have a clear view of the instruments resulted in a very washed out looking terrain. So the choice seems to be between having readable instruments vs realistic graphics with respect to everything else.

I would not touch gamma if you can avoid it. Try contrast and brightness instead. Or wish for cockpit lighting.

I set my offline terrain to (12 0 0) then adjusted gamma to make 12 noon like real world 12 noon versus 10:30-11:15. I had to increase my gamma to 1.4. At the same time this made instrument panels at 12 noon look correct. Different monitors are going to show the default gamma of 1.0 differently. That is only a base line point from the programmer's development PC.
Earl bump your gamma between 1.2 and 1.4 after setting your offline arena time.
.time 12 0 1
That is the command while sitting on the runway for high noon. Then adjust your gamma to make the offline arena world look like high noon. All light during the dusk\dawn cycle will key from that.

I agree that you should be able to light up the instruments if you want, specially in dawn/dusk conditions

I am definitely not HiTech. He did give us the .sliders command. With clipboard up type .sliders, then move the std slider to the right. If I am correct, this should lighten your dials and give the needles and gauges the pop desired. Other than that, I believe that gamma is your best solution.
I also like the .sliders to darken terrain and trees a bit. Let me hear if that works. Oh, almost forgot..... default FOV takes care of the fuzzies and hard to read instrument dark areas.
