Title: Last Night's AAR
Post by: mutha on July 20, 2016, 09:37:50 AM
Logged on.

Knight ENY was at 23 so sat in hangar waiting it for it to drop while whining on CH200.

Was told not to whine so sat quietly.

ENY did not drop.

Logged off and did some balloon busting in Richtofen's War.

Flamed five balloons!

Knight ENY 23 means there must have been a country with no ENY,  a great perk modifier and quite a number of tragets to shoot at...  :noid

It was 3.03 for Rook when I was on.

Seems number balance is getting really wacky in the LW arena... a perk modifier of 3 is what I remember from EW or MW...

Seemed like Rooks have been AWOL the last few days.  Very odd.

Agreed, but I can't bring myself to switching sides.  Just feels wrong to me. But that's my own issues.

AAR estimated 23:00 CET, flew one mission (LD fly knights this month) and logged off due to lack of fights.

I did not suffer from ENY, mostly since I and a number of members in the squad share a masochistic love for ENY 20+ planes.

Went rook yesterday, upped a set of B29's for 60 perks, tore up bush strats, go two kills, and landed receiving 30 perks. Later upped a 190f8, killed 10 ack guns, radar, 3 AC and got shot down and received 29 perks. Not that I need perks, but switching to the country with low numbers can be fun.

even with a 2.50 multiplier i saw for rooks, i still logged off. bish and knits were furballing at 111 and 112 and that is a long flight for rooks. the map is too big. and to POTW, it feels very very strange to see one of the oldest squads in the game changing teams. to me its a tell on the state of the game. like you guys are at your wits end on trying to find ways to stay excited about the game. rooks will definitely welcome you. but it feels like another nail in the games coffin in a way.  on the other hand though, you guys have the best squad night going right now as far as i can tell. maybe some rook squads see that and start squadding up more. ive always said that we need more squad ops and squad coops to make the game exciting and immersive. so maybe something will click.   I <S> you fellers for at least trying to pump some blood through this game.   :salute

Hello VuduVee,
You are seeing the changing affairs of the game.  With a declining arena population and the planned country rotations of two other fairly large squads to the Knights this month has severely impacted the play during prime time hours.  It's not about having to fly high ENY rides or perks, it's about being the in a cloud of green guys with no red guys in sight.  Pigs are only satisfied when there are red icons to hunt.  It's why we have thrown ourselves into FSO so happily, and why we are considering a jump to Rooks temporarily while the sides are so out of balance.  The vote is ongoing and results will be announced.  See you up there!

If you guys do go Rooks, may I suggest a squad name change also, so as not to sully the "Pigs On The Wing"  Knights honorific..................I suggest "FITW" or "Farts In The Wind".

JG11 and the Pigs have knocked heads a couple of times in FSO now.  Always a good scrap!

POTW is a game name that draws a fight on our Tuesday night squad night because we bring numbers and a fight. So it doesn't matter what country we are flying for on Tuesday nights. We are flying for our fun of being together and for Aces High to bring red guys a good fight.

We like our name, and someone set sawzaw straight about the origin of Pigs On The Wing. The original creators of the squad 15 years ago played in bands so the name came from Pink Floyd. We are not cops on the wing like sawzaw was insulting the recent memory of tragedies with last night on 200. One of our members is a policemen of many long years in service and one of the finest friends in the squad we could have.

So we oink it up to have fun and bring fun to everywhere we play in Aces High.

I get that... The first squad I joined was a small squad that was Nit only.  As a matter of fact, if you flew Bish or Rook, you would be removed from the squad.  I thought that was silly, but I did it.  After I joined the AK's, who rotate each tour, I found out an amazing thing.  The some of the jerks on the red sides, weren't as big a jerk when they were green.  It seemed after that, when they were red the next month, they were like they were green, friendly.

The lesson I learned is if you're friendly when you're on the same side, you have friends when you're red.  Instead of adversarial trash talk, it's friendly trash talk, because you have a more personal relationship with them, not just 200.  Go to the dark side, it's not as dark as you may think.

YMMV

It's not that I'd discover former enemas are good folk (I don't dislike anyone in the game); it's more that I'd feel bad shooting down guys with whom I've winged!
