Upped last night to fight over a base one sector away, against bishes. Flew with Rude, Trog, Rocky, Mir against a bunch of annoyingly good sticks including Hotard. At its peak (when I was on), it was about 12 vs. 12. We stomped them, then they stomped us. I'd land with 50% ammo because each hop I couldn't get more than fleeting, high-deflection shots (I also suck). The occasional buff came through, and the contested base was taken back and forth, and the dar went up then got knocked out, but mainly we were left to shoot the crap out of each other. No 262s, no buff gunships, no dragging to werbels, just straight up furballing in a night where it was more rewarding to clear someone's six than to land a kill, and that sense of relief when "extending" (aka running away) and alting when a mass of really good, revenge-seeking red dots is headed your way. Good times, good sticks, good fights, good kills (when they can gotten). Good game.

Speaking of Hotard, I think I know what he does for a living...

On the OP (opening post - not over powered,) persistent furballs are a thing of beauty. It is why I keep my subscription.
A truly good fight is when the sides are balanced and planes come in high on a conveyor belt and fight their way down to the deck. With enough people per side that an occasional early war bird has a chance of a victory or two.
Such events are increasingly rare, so cherish them when they happen.
