I have a ACER Aspire AX-1470-ur308.
I think it was made so you can't upgrade?
True or False?
Appreciate any help.

As far as I know, there is no box that cannot be upgraded.
The limitation is how you are willing to spend :aok

It does seem to have a PCI x16 slot so it could take a video card. Biggest issues are it is a "small form factor" which means gaming video card most likely wont fit, and the 200watt powersupply would have to upgraded, again worrying about "fit".
Do you have a "Frankenstein Lab" in your cellar?

Hello Popeye44,
This computer has a proprietary power supply so it may or may not run a new video card.
The bad news is that the small case requires a low profile (1/2 height) video card. Not many choices there.
Just browsing newegg.com there isn't a 2GB to 4GB DDR5 memory low profile video card available. Only found DDR3 memory video cards. You would be disappointed with performance.
Recommendation - Time to hand this one down and spend the upgrade money on something that is upgrade-able for power supply and full height video cards.

As has been said, everything can be done but would it be worth the investment. In your case you'd need a new case, a video card and a power supply to start with. That would make roughly $300 at the very least with a GTX 950 video card which won't satisfy you in the long run. Sell the Acer for $100 or more if you can and build a new one.
