Folks, we need an Axis CO.
If you can, please give some suggestions and give me their BB ID so that I can send them a message.
Also, who were the CO's for Target for Today?
-
Ditto was Axis CO in Target For Today.
-
Herr Bruv said he was going Axis...
...has my vote.
-
Being CO is a thankless job as we both know stampf. I appreciate the thought but I cant commit enough time to do the job justice. I will muck in an take a GL fighter spot but will have to make sure it fits around my work schedule.

ya a date would help if the CO has a job in R/L.

The CO can pick: 8th, 15th, or 22nd.
-
lets go with the 8th sooner the better I say. :D
-
I imagine Ditto would be the right man for the job.
-
Since it's a 12 hour frame I can probably do it. Keep in mind I've never been a side CO before. I was allied XO in pacific war and ended up leading frame 2.

I will have to make damn sure I'm free before I can commit though.

I nominate Dolby for Axis CO.... :bolt:
-
yes dolby for reichsmarshal!
-
yes dolby for reichsmarshal!
not bad, but he needs to be flying..
-
he could just cut and paste some orders and let his underlings sort out best method and execution. Take all the glory if Axis do well and retreat to his bunker if not. :D
-
I don't think that would be a good idea.
-
Bruv, that is genius! COing boiled down to the only thing you really need to do: "Troops, as your commander, I order you to win this battle!" :aok
-
nice! sounds great...
-
Is there a date set yet Tunisia?
-
I'm leaving it a bit flexible until we get an Axis CO.
It will be Oct. 8, 15, or 22.
-
Who's the CO? Did it ever get solved? I know there have been volunteers, but has it been confirmed?
Version 13 still has nothing.

I know...let's vote on it!
...right before we give the allies unlimited rocket ships, point free fighters, and crème filled donuts ...oh and HBO piped into the pits too of course...

The institutionalised Allied rigging around here hasn't made it easy to recruit. :old:

Maybe for some past events you could argue that, but not this time around - or even last time.
-
Is the date still not nailed down or are we doing this on the 22nd of Oct.??? :O
-
I know...
Thank you for your support! :aok
-
The CO and date will be settled very soon.
I am working to nail down a final aspect.
-
That would be about the last time we got a CO to step up long before the last minute.
It's wrong to hold Brooke or anyone else accountable because Fencer was biased in his designs. He's not here. Brooke is about a biased as a sock.
Maybe for some past events you could argue that, but not this time around - or even last time.
You know I am getting a little tired of reading that, since it roadkill. Here is Brooke's list of scenarios he posted in another thread.
Battle of the Dnieper -- draw
Southern Conquest -- draw
Target for Today -- missed this one
Battle Over the Winter Line -- allies won
Battle of Britain 2013 -- axis won
Mediterranean Maelstrom -- allies won
Der Grosse Schlag II -- axis won
Winter Sky - Death Ground -- axis won
Enemy Coast Ahead -- axis won
Battle Over Germany -- axis won
The Final Battle -- allies won
Red Storm / Krupp Steel -- allies won
Tunisia: Dawn of Battle -- allies won
Battle of Britain 2008 -- axis won
Der Grosse Schlag -- axis won
Operation Husky -- allies won
Battle of Britain 2006 -- axis won
Fire Over Malta -- allies won
Battle of Britain 2004 -- allies won
Looks like 8 to 8 with two ties. A lot of bias there.
I always get the crap that I designed biased scenarios or that I designed to win for "MY" side as well.
Mediterranean Maelstrom -- allies won (didn't play)
Der Grosse Schlag II -- axis won (Flew Allied)
Winter Sky - Death Ground -- axis won (Flew Allied)
Enemy Coast Ahead -- axis won (Didn't play)
Battle Over Germany -- axis won (Flew Allied)
The Final Battle -- allies won (Flew Allied)
Red Storm / Krupp Steel -- allies won (Flew Axis)
Tunisia: Dawn of Battle -- allies won (Drove Allied)
Der Grosse Schlag -- axis won (Fled Allied)
Allies 4, Axis 5, and Me? I won 3... like I cared who won anyway.
So either prove the "institutionalised Allied rigging" or that I designed biased scenarios or shut the diddly up.
-
The end score isn't what should be looked at to determine that there is no bias, that a misleading way about it.
Continuing using that as your main source of "balanced set ups" is a misnomer.
The proof comes from the plane set comparisons, set up, lop sided recruitment and side turnout.

As I pointed out in another thread:
Every event designer wants to fly his design. The moment he does, rightfully or not, he discredits his concept and invites criticism.
I'll claim that your experience is proof.
-
Wow dolby......
Wheres your perfectly designed scenario? Oh thats right.......you havent had time to write one....must be hell trying to come up with complaints about every scenario......
You truly are part of the attendance problem.....just shut the hell up

In life there are many types of people out there, innovators, creators and developers. I'm more of a developer, you hand me a scenario and I'll happily develop it.
On a side note, is your issue that it isn't hard enough to provide you with "complaints".
Yep, attendance is such a problem that for the good of the scenario I volunteered to give the Axis an option of a CO. Admittedly under set conditions because I am not the right man for the job, but I didn't see you step up to the task. So please excuse me for not taking you up on your advise.
-
The goals are:
-- Have fun.
-- For folks to have an experience in a scenario akin to reading about the actual action.
-- For it to be balanced so that sides with equal competence and execution have about equal odds of winning as judged by scoring conditions.
These three goals sometimes pull in opposite directions, and the final result is a mix of them achieved to a greater or lesser extent depending on judgement and participation.
Anyway, since this is a topic about getting an axis CO -- not about arguing over balance and various other things . . .
Can we please move on? :aok
-
So Brooke......do we have our axis CO(s) yet? :D

Ladies and gentlemen, pilots of the axis:
I am very pleased to announce that we have your CO.
Actually, we have two of them for you to make sure that you are well covered for the full 12 hours of the scenario.
I bring to you:
Commander HiTech and Co-Commander Vudu.
Please join me in welcoming them to their positions.
<S>! :aok
