Title: All welcome to join us for some testing of October settings
Post by: Brooke on August 02, 2016, 12:58:48 AM
Do you want to try out bombing or any other aspect or setting in the upcoming Scenario?

"Brooke test" will be open in AH3 custom arena at 8 pm Pacific time on Thursday.

Devil and I are going to test some things out, and all of you are invited to join us.

Why not just use the BETA SEA?

Why not just use the BETA SEA?

Sounds good.  I wasn't sure if it would be available -- but will do.

Anyone doing this tonight with FSO not running? Or this weekend as MAKAYLA is by her moms and my dear LIZZY is in bed with a migraine?

We can set up something, Mak.

I'd like to gather more data on fighter matchups.

Same here Dragon, but that was an AvA event not a scenario team managed one.

Your response appeared to suggest that the AvA staff messed up somehow in your comparison to the CM staff. The AvA staff didn't mess up any more then Nef did in his Combat Challenge.
Nefarious had the same problem in the SEA for his event. It's Beta! These things can happen in any arena after any patch, regardless of the staff running the arena. Staff and CMs have no control over these issues. We take a risk of wonky arenas and players that won't have updated their settings when running in the Beta, but it's well worth it.

If you'll kindly notice, the AH3 bug forum has far more threads in the technical help category then postings of actual bugs. imho AH3 can't be far away if no one is documenting real bugs.

I'm sorry you two had any issues. It was a fun time.

Here's a couple of quotes from the Beta forum that might apply to these types of reports.

SNO reports:

I had the white screen and had imported settings, went by a prior post and deleted the video.cfg file from the settings folder restarted the game and all is well now.

I wish you had not done that.  We would really like to have gotten our hands on that file.

I just wanted Dragon to understand that the two events were unrelated. I'm not sure why he posted his problem in this thread. It surely was not a complaint towards anyone trying to use the Beta for hosting events.  :salute

Brooke are you using tunisia.ava in The October scenario?

In AH2, it would be the terrain called "tunisia" (if you are selecting it in a custom arena), and the filename is "tunisia.res".

In AH3, it will likely be called the same thing, but the conversion isn't done yet for AH3.  If you want in AH3 a terrain that is similar and has the ground installations we would have, you can load "italy" in AH3 and fly around from the part of Tunisia that is in that terrain.
