         Allied Force Pre-Forum Recruiting Thread

Allied pilots,

Yes, we're looking for you! There will be some time before the "Allied General Forum" is created, but we wanted to have a place where the Allied pilots could express there interest, recruit, and have a little fun before in the upcoming October scenario. So feel free to let us know that you are with us, right here!

Also, if there are any questions that you may have regarding the event, i.e. What day will the scenario be on?

The answer: We don't know. But we will post the answer here as soon as we know.

So let us know that you are interested in flying on the Allied side and also let us know what you're interested in flying. The GLs will be through here soon enough looking for pilots. So let them know that you are available for their groups.

Cheers!

Depending on the day the scenario is held, I have an interest in flying Allied.  I feel kind of lost or out of the loop.  I've been waiting for the write-up and the ability to register for the event.

Just found Brooke's write-up in suggestions for the scenario topic.

Hajo,

Glad to have you aboard sir.

You know Hajo is just as good a Spit and Mustang pilot as he is in 38s...

Well Dan, it looks like you may have found yourself a great candidate for XO of the 14th as well.  :aok

Welcome to the 12th USAAF sir. I'll be looking for you in the Allied General Forum.

Gentlemen,

Just to give you guys a heads up. This is how the Allied command structure is looking so far. Please feel free to PM any one of the Allied GLs or myself with any questions you may have.

Our plan is to immerse you into the North African desert back in 1943. We want to share the nostalgia and history that should rightfully come with this event. Make sure you bring extra water and something to cover your head, its going to get HOT out there.

I'm ready.  A spot in the 14th would be great.  Although someone will have to remind me that I have to start TWO engines.
BTW, a great command structure. Great gents and fun to fly with.

This looks to be fun again.  Eager to get started.  Any Jugs?  LOL I know they weren't there yet.

I was digging through the photo collection and came across one I have of a 12th AF B-25 crew.  Based on the oak leaves I'm pretty sure it's Beefcake and his crew

(http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s199/guppy35/12th%20Air%20Force%20Scenario/25crewmto_zpsj3wonebx.jpg) (http://s152.photobucket.com/user/guppy35/media/12th%20Air%20Force%20Scenario/25crewmto_zpsj3wonebx.jpg.html)

Looks like Beefcake don't you think?

Thinking this might be Beef's ground crew getting his 25C ready too.  It's an MTO based 25.

We are having engraved invitations made up for those lucky enough to consider spending 12 hours with the 33rd Fighter Group on 'THE' day.

We will also offer the Queen's shilling, some Lira, Marks, Francs, Wintery Mint vape fluid, and a comfy cushion to sit on.

Some of the lucky 8 might also be Arabian Knights, so we'll have to lay out great lashings of Maker's Mark, a mountain of baked beans, cheezy poofs, and a fine creamy brown ale for the last hour.

Recruiting begins today.

I understand that Lt. Col. Brooke has received his orders and is in transit to Casablanca as we speak. He's bringing a good number of pilots with him flying over the South Atlantic to Ghana then up to Morocco.

So for you guys that are having your bombers assembled at the depot and have to wait to me up with Brooke, here is a nice instructional video for you to watch from Zeno's Drive-In.

Enjoy!

Be careful, CorkyJr as a weird training regiment for his P-38 pilots. Instead of flying on O2, He has the mechs install He in their birds. Then waits until you guys get to altitude and has you all recite the pledge of allegiance.

No kidding, Major Wildcat1 and his band of long bearded, eye patched pirate pilots are at sea as we speak heading for the North Coast of Africa. The assembly depot in England has a very high demand for putting birds together right now. So they shipped his groups aircraft straight to a west African aircraft assembly depot still in the crates.

Well, I suppose you guys can either help assemble your planes or watch this training video from Zeno's Drive-In.

btw, the British authorities still have a warrant out for your arrest. Something about piracy on the high seas or some crap like that.

Cheers!

Now here is one of the toughest group leads we have in the corp. Major Randy1 hailing from Barksdale AAF near Shreveport Louisiana. His 319th Bombardment Group pilots set an endurance record for making the flight from Barksdale to Casablanca if four days by way of England. Only stopping for fuels and provisions. In fact the SS Tripoli, the freighter that brought over the rest of his support group arrived in Morocco one day later.

We will need Iron Men like Major Randy1 and the 319th to bring home the victory.

Well Randy, now that it is 110 degrees in the shade and your seeing mirages just on the other side of the runway, have your pilots cool their heels for a bit and watch this instructional video called "Flying the B-26 Airplane" from Zeno's Drive-In.

Alright Fellas,

Here's the dope...

Major "BFOOT1", now this fella is as classic as they get. He might be the youngest Major in the 12th USAAF or for that matter the entire Air Force. But I tell you this. He is one of the best air officers you're going to come by. He is smart, conscientious, and well organized, some of the signature traits of a good air officer.

So in general he's a fairly precocious dude. So ensure that you stay on his six.  :aok

Carry on...

Okay Gents,

You all know this fella and have likely flown with him many times or stood under his command. Colonel Dantoo has been transferred here from action in the South Pacific against the Japanese. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.

The Colonel upon arrival will take over Air operations, Fighter command and he will also GL the 31st FG. If there was ever a guy that deserves a general command it's this guy. Let's make sure he gets a warm welcome.

His pilots will still be in England when he arrives. He will meet them there and transfer to North Africa.

While his pilots wait, here is an inspiring video about the history of the Supermarine Spitfire. This is fighter that has been assigned to the 31st FG.

The 1st FG is being rounded up, preparing for our ferry flight to an UNKNOWN destination, or so the top brass says. Most of the boys, including myself have been in London Town, busting up every pub we can find.

ALL pilots are to report to their respective airfields in England, (27th is located at RAF High Ercall, the 71st & HQ are at RAF Goxhill, and the 94th at RAF Kirton in Lindsey.) Once all pilots have reported in, and are properly detoxed, pilots will be briefed and squared away for deployment to an UNKNOWN location.

That is all.

Col. "Black Jack Pershing" SlipKnt. Now here is a guy with a story. So the scuttle butt is that he has had a relative that has fought in every major war the United States has ever engaged in. This guy bleeds RED, WHITE, and BLUE and will push the men under his command to limits previously not thought of. He's by the book with no questions asked. Major Gen. Doolittle requested SlipKnt himself to lead the bomber campaign. To my understanding, bombs will fall on target. So you guys better get ready to give Gerry some hell.

The 97th BG is somewhere over Ascension Island now. Their fuel capacity is large enough for them to come straight over from Panama at altitude and with a really lean mixture. We should see them landing in Casablanca soon.

For you new crew members and officers that did not catch the ride from MacDill AAF. It looks like you will just have to wait for them to arrive.

It just so happens, that your Force Commander is big on educating his pilots and crews. :aok

So with that said, here is a video for you to watch while you wait. "How to fly the B-17 Flying Fortress" from Zeno's Drive-In collection.

Alright carry on...  :salute

And enjoy the video.

Ready For Your Verbal Commitments

Alright Fellas,

It's time... We need to start shaking the bushes for pilots. We have 75 seats we need to fill and it's time to get to work. Contact your friends and squaddies and lets get verbal commitments from them.

Here are the possible Scenario Dates:

You can post here, PM me or shoot me an email with the names of your pilots; redtail7@gmail.com

Things will start happening pretty rapidly from here on out.

Train, train, train, train, train...

Hit the MA in the planes you will be flying and let's get some work in. Don't just dogfight as well. Get some endurance flying in.

Most importantly, this is an exercise in how to have fun.  :aok

Let's get to it.

Just curious - will this event take place in AH3?

Given the past several days' announcements from HTC, it is now very likely that it is going to be AH3.  I'm recommending that everyone practice in AH3 for this one.

Gentlemen,

News and information straight from Major Gen. Doolittle himself.

The transition to AH3 is imminent. All GLs will begin planning the move to forward airfield located in Algeria. Ensure that your pilots have access to AH3 and the latest patch #41. There will likely be several additional patches, but it is important to get patch #41 now.

You can find the patch at the link below;
Aces High 3 Pacth - 41 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,380817.0.html)

Once you have transitioned to AH3. Get practice in that arena. The staff believes that you will find the performance of the aircraft slightly different from AH2 to AH3. You don't want to find this out on mission day.

Also the Tunisia Terrain map is now available to be loaded in you're own configurable arena for practice and review for AH3.

I need an update on how our recruiting is going. Let me know who we've picked up.

Remember in a week or so, we will transition to the Allied General Forum where we will begin our planning for battle. This is where we will storm, form and norm ourselves into the team that will be the victors.

Let make ready for these moves. If there are any open questions, post them here. If the are any private questions PM me.  :aok

Let's make it happen "Big 12th"
