Title: Locked Thread
Post by: MADe on August 24, 2016, 08:54:25 AM
Seriously, theses forums have degenerated to the point that adults cannot ask a question about an OS in the hardware/software thread.

You might as well drop the hardware/software forums then, whats the point.

Technical discussions are enforced.

The recent emotional outrages, centering around Windows 10 does not help anyone, anywhere.  One day a decent discussion about it will be possible.

At least, that is my hope.

Right now, there are too many people obsessing over it which makes having a meaningful discussion impossible.

In other words, your question would never be answered fairly, or accurately, which could cause you to make a bad decision.  I am not going to allow that to happen.  Accuracy is more important than perception.

Quite frankly, you would get a more balanced response at Microsoft's own forums.

I just wanted to know who was using w10, who w7. Not why or why not, I did state that.

There are enough quality people here that I felt it a valid query. Plus I wanted to know about it from AH pov, since that's my main impetus.

Later is too late!
I would suggest more forum admins if the task requires more than 1 person.
Train your subscribers, you will eventually breed better forum content.

If the children are ruining the adults discussion, then send them from the room. In this case provide a private page, similar to a squad page, that those of us who want to, can join, providing we agree to certain rules of civility. Small control group that just provides access, or if someone cannot play civilly, deny access.
I will admin it for free, I will have no problems maintaining civility. When there are actual consequences, peoples behavior changes.

Skuzzy there was nothing wrong with the question. It was not inflammatory. It was a basic question about OS's.

MADe, if you don't have the time to read the thread ". . . there will be bugs" then you do not have the time to mess with Windows 10. And the maintenance of the OS is not the biggest problem. Microsoft has chosen to rob you of your privacy, and placed their own interests above those of their customers. There are volumes of blogs and opinions on this available on the Internet and they are open and notorious for any intelligent search.
