When you get disconnected, in my case while my six-year old Mac is having its sixth spasm of the day, do you get returned into the same spatial position you were occupying when you lost connection?

It would go to autolevel.  Not sure what it does to speed though.  Hasn't happened to me often enough to notice.

When it went into auto level and auto pilot, it almost certainly would change your pursuit angle some (or the bombers simply turned away), hence you lost some distance in the chase.


The simplest explanation of "disco position" is alternating between position 1 and position 2 below:
