Title: What makes the A-20 so awesome? Well, did you know that . . .
Post by: Brooke on September 17, 2016, 06:10:45 PM
The A-20 will play a vital role in the upcoming "Tunisia 1943" scenario, running on Oct. 22nd.
We will be wreaking havoc at Kasserine Pass and throughout the deserts of Tunisia, so if you'd like to fly with me in this exciting battle, send me a message. I'd love to fly with you.
Now, we all know the A-20 is fast, but what is surprising is that, at the time of its introduction into combat in 1941, it was as fast or faster on the deck than *all* of the fighter types in main use at the time. Faster than the P-40, F4F, Hurri II, Spit V, A6M2, Bf 110, and equal to the Bf 109F and P-39D.
Not bad!
In 1943, we are up mainly against 109G-2's, some C.202's, and a small number of 190A-5's. Our A-20's are only a few mph slower than the 109G-2, faster than the C.202, and 10 mph slower than the 190A-5.
It can definitely dogfight, too -- and is one of the strongest planes in the game.
What do you say? Send me a message and come join me in the glorious battle on Oct. 22nd. :aok

and 20 mph faster than the 110C on the deck - the other Axis attacker.

The F8 is the fastest plane in the set a 1944 plane, it should be 190a5s with bomb racks and 4*20mm ...

The F8 is slightly slower than the A5 on mil power and similar on WEP, but for scenario purposes, an F8 jabo and A5 jabo are about equivalent. The F8 is in there in order to control ord loadouts with game settings vs. the non-jabo A5's.
At any rate, the A-20's are full up.
190F-8's have only one pilot currently.
Get a move on, Luftwaffe! :aok

Axis guys, you don't have to hang out here and banter about A-20's. You can get out there and recruit people into those 190F's, which are indeed awesome planes!
I've flown jabo 190's in scenarios, and they are marvelous!
People should be knifing each other in the kidneys in order to get one!
Out we go on a mission! (http://electraforge.com/brooke/flightsims/scenarios/201110_enemyCoastAhead/pics/frame4/003-left-Image-0006.jpg)
If someone on the axis side wants to have fun they should fly the C.202 - the unarmed fighter. :old:
The C.202 IS awesome! The Ferrari of the skies! And Ferrari drivers get all the girls!

By the way, in my picture above, do you see whom I got to fly 190 jabos with? DrBone, IrishOne, Redtail7 (who is now the allied CO), and Heater (who was a USAF fighter pilot). Also flying the 190 jabos but not in that particular picture was Ditto (who is on the axis command staff and has been a scenario CO).
Jabo 190's are the awesome! :aok
Of course, so are other axis planes. In the 109's to the left are Stampf, TheBug, Krupinski, and Frodo (Bearer of the Ring).

when I count the hit from ack, I generally can withstand 2 more hits before important parts fly off the plane. From behind it's the same as the A8 though. It's extra armor sit mainly underneath the plane.
I had 13:1 k/d in it flying it as a fighter for a month.
