Title: AH3 sounds wish
Post by: Ack-Ack on September 19, 2016, 01:37:36 PM
I wish that we could have the same advanced sound settings we had in AH2.  In AH3, a lot of the individual sounds that we had in AH3 have been combined into single sounds, like Actuators (controls sounds for things like turrets, flaps, etc) and Warnings (base warnings, Check 6, etc).  I wish for these sound that have been combined into a single sound settings be broken up to individual sound settings.

For example, if you turn down Warnings so you don't hear the base warnings, you also won't be able to hear Check 6 sounds.  The turret sound is rather loud, so if you turn down Actuators, it also lowers the volume for flaps and any other sound under "Actuators".

I don't mind doing some sound volume adjustments like with the turret, and adding a slider for things like your base under as a group.

But I'm resistant to having every effect having its own slider.

A compromise would be nice. I now most that I have communicated with really miss the flexibility we had in AH2. It would be nice to have a slider for external aircraft sounds. When there are low flying planes, its impossible to hear other GVs or even vox.

I think it's fairly realistic, not being able to hear other GVs. A chinook or C130 flying directly over my big armored truck and I could barely hear my own thoughts. Vox is a different story, on the other hand.

I suspect a C130 is a lot louder than a single engine WWII fighter but I suspect your right right about the realism.  As has been pointed out many times, however, there are a lot of concessions to realism in this game in the interest of game play.

P-51 cockpit is as high as 147db, while the C130 rarely climbs above 120db, and recently the 135 went through analysis and noise levels were measured at just 99 decibels. So,. . .

I miss having a slider for "wind".  Always turned it up to max for feedback on airspeed.
