Ive seen countless reports of crappy stability in the game, i tell them to run dx9 and they are fine.

Yes, I know what you mean. Dx11 was just recently put into service and didn't get a lot of testing time, like 9 did. Its been discussed a lot in old Beta forum. Think the game automatically picks each players default version, by device's capacity to run that DX? Have those guys post to the forums about their issues, with DXDIAG attached! Pretty sure that would speed up the process. Plus, when they get on the forums they can find a lot of info about how to fix some issues with new version. Unfortunately this is what happens when limited participation in testing phase will get you. Its hard to correct problems if no one reports them.

I know we need to get DX11 sorted but adding the DX9 shortcut to the desktop during installation might help players stay in the game without having to ask for help or giving up.

I've been running dx11 for a few weeks. I have had only one, very obscure, rarely occurring issue that even hitech can't duplicate. Is it possible those folks with dx11 issues should not be running it? Not sure about AHIII defaulting to the preferred version; I had to select one, but that was early on. FYI, my issue is simply that when flying hotas, I sometimes minimize to the menu bar just like hitting alt tab. When I click on the AHIII icon, I'm right back in the game in the same status as when I minimized. SKuzzy may have given us the fix for that. Haven't had a chance to test that.

I have a windows 8.1 pro x64 system with MSI Z97 Gaming 3 MB, Intel i5 4690K processor and AMD R9-380X video card with latest drivers. It should be able to run DX11. Without fail, DX11 will crash not only the game but the computer after about 30 minutes. I presented the windows telemetry data set, AH film, and windows events recorded at the crash in the open beta forum. HiTech is working on it. Meanwhile I'll be using DX9 because it's stable for me.

Might be worth putting a MOTD in the arena letting folks know, and point them in the right direction.
I advised several people stating issues on ch200 and country to switch versions throughout the day yesterday.
