FTJR, I am guessing you are running the DX11 version of the game.  Given the issues you are having, I would like to know what video card and the date of the video drivers you are using.  All this is available in DXDIAG.

Also, do the same issue appear in the DX9 version of Aces High III?

Claymore's P-40E from 343rdFG/11FS has the same problem, hope that helps you figure out the problem...

Yes Skuzzy DX11, GTX 750 Ti, and the driver is version 10.18.13.5382, dated 8/11/15   (strange cause I updated them last week). Same problem on DX9.

This is the only P40N skin, i've seen the problem on, but I only went through mine.

ps. updated the drivers to 10.18.13.6839 dated 6/2/16  problem remains.

There are actually quite a few P-40 skins with problems.  The P-40C's look OK, but many of the others had problems.  The most common problem seems to be a very high environment map value, giving the skin a chrome or mirror-like finish.  This is not apparent if you play with 'Disable Reflections' checked.  But there is at least one other skin with the problem noticed by ftJR, and you really have to go to the runway and look in external view to see it - it's hard to spot the problem if you just look in hangar view.

The specular channel is not coming through on a lot of planes and vehicles. The one and only M3 skin is just pure shine.

I'm not sure.  I think the chrome-like appearance requires high values in both the environment map and the Specular map.  In fact if you disable reflections and look at the skin, you'll still see quite a bit of shine, more than you'd expect from a flat-painted skin...

Definitely something amiss.

I should have said "the only non-default" M3 skin.
