Aces High Bulletin Board

I originally was running the DX11 version without any major issues, but after reading on the BBS how the DX9 version helped eliminate the micro stutters people were having (I was getting them too) I decided to give the DX9 version a try. But every time I try it the game completely locks up a few seconds after I enter the main arena. I have to alt-cntrl-del and kill Aces High in the task manager to get out of it.
I also noticed last night when I made another attempt at it, thinking maybe a patch helped, that the initial splash screen would come up after double clicking the short cut, but then it would take over a minute for the notepad to come spiraling into the display. In DX11 that happens essentially instantly.
There must be something wrong on my system and any tips would be appreciated that might explain the trouble with DX9 but not DX11.
Thanks!

Any clues?
-
I tried to duplicate this on my home system as it is running the same video card driver as yours (7950 video card) and it has an ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card.
I cannot duplicate it. Are you running any type of anti-xxxx software on the computer? If so, that is it?
It could also be heat related, or even power related.
-
Yet another guess, have you checked your Task Manager for abnormal cpu usage? If you see svchost using 50% of your cpu cycles it's Windows update related.
-
My anti-virus software is ESET Nod32 Antivirus 5. Just wanted to mention again that I do not have an issue with the DX11 version locking up, it is just the DX9.
-
Not certain yet but will test out more today when I get the chance, but a tip from a squaddie, Morfiend, seemed to do the trick. He told me to download and install Directx 9c since 11 might of been using its backward compatibility. Installed 9c and was able to spend a few minutes, longer than ever before, without it locking up. Will confirm it did the trick later today.
