Title: Tempest Model
Post by: Beamont on October 05, 2016, 08:44:26 AM
Gentlemen,

Any chance at an updated Tempest model? The Typhoon is very good, but the Tempest has not aged well. Any rumors of it being updated?

Thanks,
Beamont

There are many models that are still AH1 standard, like the Tempest, 110s, 262 etc.

I've been following the F-35 threads, so I understand why you gain perks by agreeing to fly it.

Guns won't fire on the F-35 til AH5.

+1 This is the main reason I don't often fly the Tempest!

The same goes for the other stick-less planes.

By my checking, there really aren't that many a/c left to update, and some have very similar airframes and cockpits, so hopefully much of the work can be shared between the pair.

Tempest
110C/110G
F4F-4/FM-2
A-20G/Boston III
Ju 88
B5N Kate
D3A Val
Ki.67
SBD Dauntless

Do you think it's because these planes hardly get flown?

Aircraft get updated as time permits.

Tempest, 110G, FM-2 and A-20 get flown quite a bit.

As for the rest, I have two of them in my kill club.  No, not that "kill club", the 1000 kill club.

I think I would be happy to fly it a lot more once it is updated.   You would think you could at least use the british gauges on the Tempest instead of the generic AH1 types.  Other issue with the Tempest is the auto pilot seems unable to correct for torque on its own - I usually take it off manually then put it in auto-climb after I have built up enough speed to keep it stable.

Reset the climb speed to 200. It fixed the alignment issue :)

110G-2 is one of the most flown jabo-planes in the game.
