I have a Nvidia GeForce 770 graphics card with 4mb DDR5 onboard memory. I've been flying the DX11 version and getting screen freezes and CTDs with some frequency. The other night I flew the DX9 version without a problem. Out of curiosity, I just did a general web search for my card and DX11. Lots of gaming issues out there with, wait for it, freezes and CTDs for lots of games. This doesn't appear isolated to AH. Lots of advice on what to do, but the general theme seems to be, use DX9. Just an FYI.

I have an AMD card. The number of CTD's has increased dramatically since the last patch or the W10 update or both. I had four on Saturday and two yesterday.
Please note too, no DMP files are being generated and on my system, it requires a power down to get out.

Also have an AMD card with increased ctd since last patch in DX11. I will be installing an Nvidia card this week and will see if there is a difference.

We are also aware the NVidia HDMI pass through sound drivers are causing a lot of crashes and freezes as well.

Pudgie posted in another thread that the power management setting on USB ports may be causing freeze problems. He noted that he had made a port change and windows reset the usb port back to energy management.
I am going back trough my usb setting to make sure they have not been reset.

If you are running Windows 10, it will reset settings back to defaults after many different updates.
A pain when it resets the share settings for the network.
The latest Windows 10 updates seem to be causing a lot of problems with many DX11 applications.

I was experiencing these freezes too, but they seem to have stopped in the past few days or so. The only things I can think of that changed on my system was the latest AH3 update, I updated to the latest Nvidia video drivers and I disabled the Nvidia sound drivers. Ran the DX11 version for at least last couple of evenings with no freezes.
