Hi everyone I need some help. I recently had a problem with my computer where windows 10 did the boot loop thing. My computer ended up rolling back to windows 7 and I will probably keep it there since windows 10 was glichy.

My problem now is that my system is locking up and I have to force quit AH3. My vox seems to not be working in game either. I will post my DX dig for you geeks to look at. let me know what I need to do thanks!

Guys I cant remember how to get the cmd prompt dxdiag a little help?
-
hit start, in the box type DXdiag, at the top, click dxdiag and save as a text

-
To get the "Run" option enabled, right-click on the "Start" button.

 Select "Properties".
 Select the "Start Menu" tab.
The hit the "Customize" button.  Scroll down (alphabetical order) and check the box next to "Run".

If you're not using your HDMI output for sound, uninstall and disable the AMD HD audio. If you only use your headset for audio, you might want to disable the Realtek HD audio devices, too. That would leave you with one single audio device which would make choosing the right one easier.

-
I was going to say.  Three sound device drivers is a lot.  The AMD/ATI HDMI pass through drivers will contribute to problems.  Disable them if you are not expecting to hear sound from your television speakers.

What is that Corsair audio driver for?
-
I was having terrible problems with screen freezes. Skuzzy told me to turn off an ATI sound device. No change. Asked in the MA and several people told me to quit running DX11 version and run DX9 version.

Problem solved. No more screen freezes.
-
But don't you lose graphical enhancements in DX9 like reflections and stuff?

Not sure why I missed it before, but you might want to update the video card driver.

-
my software update days I am running current version.

-
my software update days I am running current version.

A third party software update program? If it automatically checks for updates for each and every device in your Device Manager, that alone can cause issues with online games. My system is very modest, yet it shows 73 lines in DevMgr. Checking for updates for each of them on a daily basis would be quite a hassle and totally unnecessary.
-
hey the game needs to patch to 10 and my computer wont automaticaly download from in the game for some reason. I also cant get the download pop up window with the save option. Im not sure why it is doing this but I need some help.

-
Are you running any anti-xxxx software on your computer?  It can interfere.  It can get so bad, youi would have to remove the game and reinstall it due to the mess it can cause.

What are you getting when the game tries to download the patch?  Does it download?  Does it fail when trying to patch?
-
OK game patched to current version and now it's freezing as soon as I am in the tower in MA

-
please help, this is really pissing me off.

This is weird but the game is running fine in DA, not sure why

-
Your sound drivers are a bit old, check at Corsair for the latest software.

Also, your Page file looks quite big. How often do you reboot your system and what is your background processes count?

As for the DA, there's less stuff to be drawn. The DxDiag doesn't tell which version of the Radeon HD 6900 series you have. I have the 6970 and I have had to lower some settings. Also some maps and even some places on a single map seem to be more demanding than others.
-
Which 6900 series video card is it?  I am running the exact same video driver on my 7950, in my home computer, and have no problems at all with the game.

Your page file is huge.  Should be around 1.5GB.  Also note, your computer has a very odd amount of system RAM.  22GB, but only 16GB available.  I find this odd.  Where is the other 6GB?  Where is it coming from?

You have a lot of stuff attached to USB Controller 0.  It could be overloaded.
-
the ram was install last year and I just plugged in the chip in the slots man. I am getting very aggravated now. I may have to just cancel this game. as for my video card its a amd radeon 6900 series thats what it says on the catalyst. what do you mean by my page file being huge. I dont know if I should just quit playing this game because it seems like over the years theres always some roadkill to contend with or some new conflict with my system and your game. I am at a loss at this point

-
Page file being huge normally indicates there is a lot of programs running in the background.

I asked about which video card as there are several in the 6900 series.  Some are very capable of running the game well (6970, 6990), others are not, without reducing the graphic settings (6950).  Then there is the 6930 which probably would not run the game well at all.

If the memory chips are mismatched, then you lose performance due to the memory controller not being able to interleave memory access which slows down the computer.  The controller will also revert timings to the slowest RAM chip/board and further decrease performance.

I understand the frustration.  Exacting every ounce of performance from computers can be an exasperating experience.
-
How do you clean up what's running in the background then? My task manager doesn't have them listed under active programs

-
Try this. On your desk top find the logo for the game.
Right Click on it to open it.
 Now click on properties.
Click on the compatibility tab at top.
You will see a box that's titled Compatibility MODE
check the box if it isn't already that says - Run this program in compatibility mode:
Below that is a drop down box that has the names of all the programs that run computers, Windows7, 10 and so on.
Make sure you have the correct one that runs your computer.
Click apply at the bottom, then see if it runs better.

 Hope that helps.

How do you clean up what's running in the background then? My task manager doesn't have them listed under active programs

Cleaning up the backgrounds is a slow tedious process. Hit <control><alt><delete> to open the task manager, and click the "processes" tab at the top. Once that window is open in the bottom left it will tell you how many processes you have running. Less is better.

Shutting down services shuts down the processes (click the tab at the top for services). Using a site like http://www.blackviper.com/ to compare what you have running and seeing if you need it running or can stop it.

I tried this but had game freeze right after the change.  It is easy to try and change back so it might work for others

theres only 45 guys on right now and I am not sure if more client on the servers can have a negative impact on the system or not but, that compatibility mode seems to be working!

I just wanted to report that my game has been running perfect since the latest patch was installed.  I hope I continue to have good luck going forward!
