No more GV'ing in NDISLES.
Why the change?
GV'ing used to be allot of fun.
-
Airbases still have GV hangars.
-
Probably a good thing. This will spread action to more important areas and will benefit the action around the map. TTs and Furball Islands aren't needed if action around the map is easily accessible.

True, but 1 heavy fighter can take the single VH down in a single pass where the GV bases require more effort to take out all 4 hangers in a short sequence. It will require great defense of the airfields to retain constant GV action. But tonight all 3 countries kept their close bases where usually one of the countries seemed to always take out a neighboring GV base.
When NDisles first launches TT is the only GV capable area on the map. The rest of the map is single country held islands that can't have GV action until a spawnable base is captured.
It will put a 15 minute crimp in GVin for sure if the VH's become prime targets and are down most of the time, otherwise a fliers furball delight with three minute flight time action. The sky goes red with planes and stays that way with surprisingly little CAS action (at least tonight). The nightime tracers were a great show.

I personally love it.

The new fighter town is freaking awesome :x :x :joystick: :airplane: :rock
-
yeah I kinda like it too :airplane:

Exactly right.
I enjoy all aspects of the game. It can be hard to find a good GV battle like the old Crater map. The new, now old tank town, was a really neat place to have a tank battle. Tank battles were way down last night.
That being said, one of the problems we were seeing during low player numbers is one plane deacking the GV base with troops in the bushes for an easy capture often eliminating one or two countries from tank town. This new change may help that problem a little.

Me too. Who every idea this was is a smart man!!!
-
There was a ton of gv battles going on underneath me while I was furballing there...at least 20 or so guys gving...not to mention the 30 to 40 fighters there...
-
probably should have made VH's indestructible for this area. just to keep the gv battles going :joystick:

Hell to the no.
Would make base capturing almost impossible.

Looks like the buzzsaw terrain is showing the way forward for creating fast combat in a localized area to bring players together with low numbers. GV bases limit the available toys and activities while airfields support both toys and activities. Airfields are more vulnerable to closing down GV operations than a GV base. Waffle didn't remove the tank town object, so the GV spawns are in the same places for GV furballing as usual. Enjoy this while it's new. Eventually players will go back to flying the way they always do to not loose in a furball. I wonder if that large terrain with the center island and all those GV bases with 3 airfields will be updated like this? It may speed up the action there too.

:aok for the new NDisles map!
-
I have been out of town.....I need to experience this....I'm guessing it probably has a near to similar effect to making the V bases uncapturable??? This the case with removing them?
-
Go into the Player tab and create an arena by choosing ndisles. Then you can look at it and see the GV bases on the center island were replaced by small airfields which are capture able.

Offline doesn't present how it plays online

Seems the rooks thought it was cool to take all the TT bases. Personally, I think that's uncool.

Was worried it would be too much for a few to not greif the arena by doing something like that during low numbers. The base layouts are too easy for lazy players not to whizz on it. You don't really need three un-capturable fields near the HQ on any map.

The bish and knits have done this as well. I agree, not cool.
BTW, when the bish did it a couple of weeks ago, we pushed them off our base and some Rook tanks went to the taken knit base to help the knits push the bish off that base.

I hope you're not saying that the rook and nits were working together??? Lol jk

No matter the side, its poor form, stage 4 griefing.

:rofl The vox conversation was more like "lets help the knits put the bish in their place or capture the base ourselves which ever came first.
All countries are having the same problem with strats being knocked down during low play hours leaving a mess during prime time. Having base ack and ammo down for two hours is bad for game play. Nothing more wasteful of players than having to have someone guard the map room for a couple of hours.

we have maps with single indestructible VH bases and they still get captured--where theres a will theres a way

I think anybody taking tt bases is uncool---bish are the worse at it---its like they are the scrooges or grinches of the game-not wanting anyone to have gv battle fun.
a lot of times I log on and bish own tt and I just log back off

You are prolly not the only one that does that (and people complain about the numbers SMH)

. . . a lot of times I log on and bish own tt and I just log back off
I do find it annoying but I can find something to do somewhere on the map.
