Title: Micro-Stutter Fix!
Post by: N95KF on November 07, 2016, 06:44:55 PM
Okay, after pulling my hair out for the past few weeks, I've finally figured out what was causing my stutters/micro freezes.  It wasn't Windows, DX11, background processes, or driver issues...  :bhead

It was..... <drumroll>

Checking 'disable players skins' in my AH3 Graphics Options!!!!

-and-

Disabling Skin Downloads in flight

If I had read the hints and tips at the top earlier, I could have avoided this issue.  This should be sticky in its own category for everyone to see.  I guarantee this will work for a huge chunk of the players experiencing micro-stutters/freezes.

use pingplotter to see if you are losing packets...  stutter was driving me nuts also... but it is actually the "INTERNET" somewhere in NY for me that my path to AH is losing ~50% of the packets...  Makes flying impossible.

my issue is here:
lag-24.ear2.NewYork1.Level3.net [4.68.111.101]

I usually route LA -> San Diego -> Arizona -> TX....

But this week I'm going to NewYork and back to TX... with the packet loss in NY... flying is a slide show.

The internet is going to be a mess until after the election here in the US.

Quite right.  And then it ill be a mess for a few weeks afterwards as everyone whines and cries about how their guy did not win and how bad things are going to be and so on.

Be careful.  That Skuzzy guy will delete your post for having political content since you said the "Guy"(Common male denotation) did not win. :rofl   I suggest you use  person when referring to a gender neutral people persons winning the election.
