I get this message after clicking the main Icon Initiation failed with -9 mainWLD_FAILD-1

They are working on the problem at this very moment.

Can't get game to load.
-
You may need to launch DX9 version until the DX11 is repaired.
AS I understand it it is being addressed ATM.
:salute
-
Wonder what the issue is for some? Flew only DX11 last night with no issues.... just fired up the game in DX 11 no issues.
-
It was Patch 11, which broke the DX11 version of the game. You could run DX9, but many run DX11.
To fix it we created a special patch which corrected the error (and a couple of actual game errors) and brought the patch level to 12.
It was not one of our best days.
-
Game locks up on my system after a short time online.

After reading the posts of similar problems I decided to try lowering the texture size. Going down to 2048 seems to have solved my problem although I shouldn't need to have done this with a kick axe graphic card. I'll experiment more after work today.
-
With 2GB of dedicated video RAM, you should be able to run 4096 Texture size. What happens when you run it at 4096? DX11 or DX9 version? Have you tried both?

With 2GB of dedicated video RAM, you should be able to run 4096 Texture size. What happens when you run it at 4096? DX11 or DX9 version? Have you tried both?
At 4096 it freezes after about a minute and a half after getting into an arena. Everything just stops moving. No windows message. Sound is still playing. When I ctrl alt del to get to the task manager, you click on task manager and the screen goes white. Nothing. So I turned off the machine and rebooted.
This morning I noticed people seeming to find relief by lowering the texture size, so I did and it worked fine. I only flew around for maybe seven to ten minutes but it worked fine. The water still has that two second jerky motion to it but I was able to run the program.
I'm no expert but I'm thinking the problem other are having might have something to do with texture. And being that I had no problem before the water was "fixed" maybe it's a texture used to get the water to look right? I'm just guessing here.
-
Just got back from a long flight and ride around. No problems at 2048 texture size.
I should have said earlier, this is all with DX11. I haven't done anything with DX9 (shouldn't have to anyway. This system is plenty good enough to run AH3)
-
oops...
Just got back from the main arena after computer froze up again. I guess reducing the texture size wasn't a fix after all.
-
Do you have any anti-xxxx software installed on this computer?
-
Do you have any anti-xxxx software installed on this computer?
Of course but I turn it off before logging in.
When I got home today I checked my DirectX and vid card drivers. They are the latest and greatest. I'm assuming that DirectX updates with Windows 10 because the date on it was recent.
I did disable the motherboard vid chip in Device Manager. It was showing in the list under Display Adapters.
I just got out of the Training Arena after playing around in there for about half an hour. No problems at all. I'm going to try the Main Arena later when the numbers come up in the evening.
-
Well, that took all of five minutes. Same as last night. Log in, play for a bit, computer lock up, power off reboot.
Oh well. Back to Trainz for awhile.
-
What anti-xxxx software is it? Most of them cannot actually be disabled. All disabling does is turn off the reporting of problems.
You cannot rely on Windows 10 to keep drivers updated, especially video card drivers. Microsoft is usually several releases behind. NVidia had a couple of drivers, recently released, which had a number of issues. They have been releasing hot fixes pretty regularly, which never get to Microsoft.
I am thinking there is something else going on here. Random lockups, not occurring with everyone playing the game, usually point to something else. What are the temps of the video card and CPU? What size/brand/model power supply is in the computer?
-
I know there's something else going on lol. And more than likely, it's something incredibly stupid. After fourteen years of playing AH I've learned that these major changes take a lot of time to sort things out and plenty of patience.
The power supply is a Thermaltake TR2 600w
I couldn't find temps. Control Panel, System info, Graphics Card info...nothing...all the technical data is there but couldn't find a CPU or GPU temp reading anywhere.
I'm not worried about the anti virus software. If it's really on when it tells me it's off then there's nothing I can do about it. All I can say is I go in and toggle off everything it allows me to each time I get ready to log in. I wish I could do the same with Win10. Especially the update. WinXP allowed you to completely disconnect from MS but as far as I can tell Big Brother MS took that luxury away.
-
If you leave Windows 10 updater at its defaults, it will merrily reboot the computer in the middle of a game. I just hope, if it happens to anyone, they are not flying an expensive perk ride at that time.
-
Just came from a long session in the Dueling Arena. Two big hiccups but no lock ups. Ping is 49 to 68. I'll try the Main Arena again later today.
-
Seems rock solid with patch 13. I'll let you know if it's an illusion.
-
It's an illusion.
Locked up three times tonight. The third time was able to recover fast enough that the AI saved my place and I carried on to the target.
Played 23 minutes before the first lockup. Locked up the second time right after logging back in right in the tower as I was scoping the map. Third time I was on roughly 10 minutes, it locked, I shut down and rebooted, came back in and the AI let me pick up where I left off. Went on to play another half an hour or so then logged. Can't see a or reason for it. Each time I was in different places doing different things.
I know this is nothing to go on. Wanted to report it though.
I'll start recording my sorties and when it happens again I'll send it to ya.
-
Finally remembered to turn the film on and captured a lockup while in the training arena. Hopefully it will have data you can use.
Film attached (if I did things right)
