I know it's none of my business but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. I'm brimming with anticipation.
I wonder what Trinity would look like with todays improvements.
I wonder what compello and Festerma would look like ozkansas with the tank island. the possibilties are endless.

I hope we don't see any of the big maps come back until the numbers go up......if they do.

There are still too many "game play" issues that need to be looked at before the numbers will grow. Stick with the small maps that force interaction.

I've been posting you screen captures from the terrain I'm building in your wish about GV icons.

I've just finished laying down all of the bases for Country2 and have to lay down all the vehicle\PT spawns and shore batteries. There are 51 base objects per country. Then I supposed Skuzzy will have to decide if my weeks of effort are acceptable for MA play. I've tried to follow the terrain editor handbook religiously to cut down on causing him headaches.

You will notice the tip of each island the bottom three airfields are all about 3\4 sector apart with no GV spawns to them to ruin furballs. Then the back half of each island is standard with GV spawns and ports for the win the war people. All the strats except for the city and HQ are on the islands with three GV spawns to help cause trouble. And that white ring of mountains are a super caldera unbroken 25k high. No hiding on this terrain unless you want to fly at 26-30k. And the vehical spawns to the HQ and city are 3miles out while regular GV spawns are 2.5miles in the center of village tiles like I was posting screen captures for you lunatic......

I've posted some screen captures, the CBM map from inside of the terrain editor, central tank arena island from the top, and from the side. I noticed a lot of GVers really missed the original tank crater arena in the AH2 CraterMA. The central bowl is 5000yds across with the sniping highlands at 500ft and just enough trees and a few buildings to roll back into when you get ranged. Three uncapturable tiny GV bases with landing pads next to the tower to tower out storch and GV. One spawn in from the closest country airfield, and three spawns out from the tiny GV base to quickly get in trouble in all those villages minus the tree problems.

Trinity is tooooo gigantic for today's numbers. Each country on Trinity had a perfect feature to build three new smaller terrains around for AH3. As you read players fond memories of Trinity, you see the fondness was for those features rather than the whole gigantic take all night to get anywhere monstrosity that only worked with a minimum of 400 players split across those features.

Wondering how you plan it to play.
Keep in mind that Taskgroups travel 35 miles per hour. It may well take 3 to 6 hours before a given TG can be useful to attack other countries. By then, the cross channel NOE missions will move the front, so most TGs will be for defense or recapture ops?
lol, that's a lot of PT spawns.

It should be fun to watch how it works out.

To be honest, I'm using them as floating ack barges and bomber targets up front instead of lieing to myself about some greater game virtue. If they can get their task groups through all those traps and into position, well then they are hero's for it and deserve any field they conquer. Otherwise, the ports will make great places to do battle on the ground and in the air between respawns.

This thing is simple, take the worst urges for field capture and furballing, and magnify them. There is nothing complicated and strateigerik about the thing. Look at the GV capture paths belting the islands and the bomber access to the HQ\city with the 163 field sitting in its front pocket. The thing will either be flipped inside of 6 hours or everyone will be GVballing in the center island and furballing in the center fields until it gets replaced on the terrain change cycle.

I leave the strategic works of art up to those with more years at this. I'm just making them bang their heads against each other no matter where they are in the gigantic bowl. It's no map for those who want to hide from each other.

I started feeling bad about spawns as a whole hours after I finished them and looked at the entry points as a strategic process. I may back the number of PT spawns and shore batteries down. Every field with a PT spawn has shore batteries. It's a learning process just like how I settled on 2.5 miles through the village tiles for GV spawns by spending a weekend stop watching and gunnery testing the process on a number of clutter tile designs. As for the PT spawns, given the width of the slots, I may give only ports and the three medium airfields with spawns to the tank arena PT spawns. It's too easy to sink task groups if you have enough leverage against them aside from all the bomber guys looking for things to do. They are rather fragile strategic entities in our game. I still want low alt fights between fighters which task groups facilitate nicely. This is what I get for having the flu and a naughty temperature..... :O

Just my opinion, but this is one of the worst design approaches I have ever heard of. Primarily, you should reconsider CVs, which offer some of the best action going. If nothing else, CVs attract bombers, and low fights.

Your map is going to cause people to log in, and then out faster than Trinity ever did.

In my opinion, based on your CBM...
The central island land mass should be larger to accommodate ALL strat with the optional exception of fuel and ammo factories.
Channels between the pie slices should still have airfields ~25 miles apart or it slows the fight.
Ports with CVs should not be placed opposite bases with shore batteries or PT spawns.
CVs should be more useful and probably more plentiful on a 512 terrain.
Check that 8" TG guns can't hit vBases in central island, looks close.
Just saying here; the sector+ wide strip of land between the outer mountains and ocean serves no purpose.
Intentionally or not, this terrain is designed to defeat the 65' radar alt meant to stop NOE missions. The HQ/City/AFs being the most egregious case.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. I hate the flu.

wrong--45 or 50 mph-get in a plane and sit on the carrier deck-read your planes speedo. I for get the actual speed. the pt boat out runs the cv group by 5 mph I think it is

oh and bustr WHY do you always comment on my posts in her or the wish list with these big ole terrain maps and half a page of commentary on how your terrain would work for my inguiry, which gave me a headache, has nothing to do with my post, I was just wondered if there was a timetable when more terrains would be released, that's all

Any of you are free to open the terrain editor and create your version of utopia for the game. And I will do anything I can to help you if you need it during that long and "mind numbing" process.

Many of you walk the fine line of enjoying your opinion to it's fullest at the expense of your victims as SOP in this forum. It's the primary entertainment in these forums that I have witnessed for 15 years. Other than Easyscor, do any of you have a clue how many hours I have put into this thing? Just like, do any of you know how many years of research went into all those historically and Hitech physics Milliradian correct reticle you now enjoy in every plane you spawn out in?

I didn't make this thing to suit the AH2 grand terrain sensibilities of our betters here in these forums. It's to suit those subscribers in the MA many in these forums look down upon, who make complaints about the game play I've listened to for 15 years. You might even venture if I've got the self anointed in here unhappy, it will probably be a hit with all those deplorable bubbas in the MA.

Here, I will point the way to our personal AH3 utopia while cheering you on to a superior product: c:\Hitech Creations\Aces High III\ahedit.exe

I will be happy to learn from your superior product as the deplorable bubbas cheer and carry you around on their shoulders. And I will join them because someone is bringing something new into the MA world. At this point new is important in keeping subscribers because it may inspire others to create terrains and it will give subscribers hope to stay around. A simple self fulfilling cycle like before 2008 when it was at it's fullest.

Bustr, I think you should remove the PT spawns from the airfields that do not have GV spawns for the same reason.

I would enjoy giving bustr's map design a go! It may well not be perfect but I feel that way about the buzzsaw map (and I think this design may be better) and it is more than anyone else has shared or done of late. At least it be something new. I hope Bustr and Skuzzy can work out the details to give this project a shot. Besides some of the CV complaints it does give a lot to GV battlers and furballers.

Unlike some here I actually think you got the right idea with CVs...hopefully people will send them to those tip bases instead of across the channels to be spotted by the fighters furballing over the water. The GV spawns across the water negate everything everyone is saying about CVs...Land based aircraft with GV spawns have always been better for taking down fields compared to CV and airfields without a GV spawn....which helps the fight press into the next island.

My only suggestion is connecting more of the bases on the islands via GV spawns to push fights and for avenues of support...I personally dont like more then one field spawning into another because of M3 resupply but hopefully HTC sees logic there and nerfs it.....maybe strings of 2 or 3 fields connected by spawns so they can't blow through the entire island but can get a decent foothold on the enemy island.

Terrain between the airfields on the island looks good, that's what really makes the best fighter action is when you got interesting terrain to fight over and use tactically...Buzzaw has those long slopes and dropp offs....kinda bland if you ask me...yours looks like its got more texture to it.
