Any of the possible Allied CICs planning on manning the P39s??? (Since you dont have to I wouldnt) Personally I understand they flew during this point in the war but do we need them as more cannon fodder for let's say the TA152 Ace pilot....why even have them as fighter available the Yak9u and Yak3 can fulfill any role they play just as good if not better.(Unless of course for balance which I think it will be lopsided toward the Axis)
Originally looking at this lineup...Russians are going to need to fly well to win the air battles...don't need to crutch yourself with P39s...just saying'' (to any possible CIC)
-
They lug a 500lb bomb, something that the Yaks can't and the La7 can almost do.

Pigs are updated.

LOL 9U can smash the non-jet LW rides quite happily. And 9T's will face-rape A8s all dayyyyyyyyyyyyyy long.

If in the right place, the 39's can smash the jets too.

things you didn't know about Yaks:
The Yak-9 is based on the Yak-7, which was originally designed as a 2 seat trainer. As such the Yak-9s have a bit of fuselage space (there are lots of stories of yaks transporting personnel or picking up downed pilots.
On some Yak-9s that space was used for extra fuel. The Yak-9D had an 845mile range and the 9DD had a range of 1420 miles (no DTs). Ds and DDs escorted B-17s and B-24s. So despite the popular myth there were some long range Soviet fighters in WW2.
On other Yak-9s that space was used for bombs (4x 100kg/220Lb) in vertical tubes:

Apparently they were a pig to aim, but once again a slick config.
The also used an early type of cluster munition - the PTAB, the Yak-9B could carry 32:
The bomb itself was 2.5kg with 1.5 kg of explosives. The Il-2 was capable of carrying 280 2.5 kg bombs immediately on the bomb-bay folds, or 4x48 in four cassettes. The PTAB 2.5 was capable of penetrating 60 to 70 millimeter tank armor, at the time sufficient for the top-armor of even heavy tanks.
The number of PTABs dropped in a given time period steadily increased thereafter. By the end of 1943, Soviet records show that 1,171,340 PTABs were dropped. In 1944, the number dropped was 5,024,822. In the first four months of 1945, a further 3,242,701 PTAB were used

Who would love to see IL2s and Yak-9's with PTABs? :x

K4s and Dora can handle them below 20K the TA out performs that entire line up above 20K...If Allies are smart the will stay lower where the LA have their effect on the fight.

Scratching my head on the Aircraft Order of Battle, a bomber pilot looking at the plane set. Seems this will be a skewered event in favor of Axis.
Allies has Tu-2 bombers that are easy to kill.
Axis has Ar-234s that will be only shot down with lucky Allied fighters like the LA from 10,000 feet above in a steep dive at the right time and place to nail them.
Axis has 4 262s and 8 TA-152s that are designed for buff killing. Unless the pilots of those AC actually make the stupid mistake to turn and burn with Allied fighters, they won't be effective unless they stumble across the bombers.
You will have great dogfights for tactical engagements. This will come down to effective CIC planning.
I predict this to be an Axis landslide. Allied CICs, please prove me wrong.

LOL Luftweenies have no idea. I pray we are assigned Allies, I love running down K4s and Doras in the Yak.

Fixed!

LOL no.
Yak9U vs K4....if the K4 pilot loses it's because the Yak pilot is flat out better at ACM....
Dora...like a P51...shouldn't lose most fights because of it's ability to run away.
